Why is it you people always blame Libertarianism in particular for open pedophilia, and with no distinction between right or left Libertarianism? Is it at all possible that pedophiles don't care about any particular political ideology and only grasp at straws for whatever benefits them in the moment? Isn't the main driving force for pedo acceptance right now coming from Neo-Liberals and Marxists out of California and Germany? I somehow doubt pedophiles care much about other Libertarian causes such as gun rights or the right to trip on shrooms.

Double standards are a hallmark of fujoshi. If you encounter one seemingly rationally criticizing lolicon, rape hentai etc., make sure to check out her favorites. There's a high probability she enjoys similar, or even more violent, content — but with gay sex. See, when the victim isn't female, a certain portion of fujos can easily excuse gore and rape or even enjoy a child being exploited under the guise of ~toxic yaoi romance~.

They'll claim, "It's not glorification, it's just fiction which explores super dark topics!"— conveniently forgetting this when it comes to things that don't pander to their gay fetish. Only then it becomes a problem that can be adressed.

And for a long time it was just the way things were. Slap the BL tag on the romantisized child abuse and the creator is no longer questionable. So I was very pleased to find out that at least on the west side a shotacon fujoshi artist, who was hired to make the official manga for Omori, got called out. Yeah, since Japan worships pedo fiction, it didn't affect her much, but it shows that there's change, that the attitude isn't the same as it was before.

Fujoshi like to act as if they're above lolicons and male otaku, but they are the same as them, down to every autistic detail. And in the future even more people will be aware of this.

The sad realization is that a lot of people in the West, or really the entire world, don't actually care about sexual abuse. They care about male perpetrators and female victims. We can clearly see this in how many women get away with abusing young boys, and in how some male sexual abuse is so normalized that it's not even considered sexual abuse by many. I think expecting anything bad to happen to women like this is optimistic thinking at best.

How would this make it so that there's "sweeping changes in the manga industry" and that "Guts' origin story to not fly under the new regulations". Any parent who buys or allows their kid to buy Berserk or other simalarily violent/adult material is a bad parent, and if they do so in big enough numbers, the law has to do something about it. I don't know how limiting adult content to adults would make all of this dissapear, unless the people who sell this adult content rely on non-adults buying it to be profitable, which is almost even worse

I mean I've always seen Bezerk as a adult story. In fact a lot of places do. Depending if you buy it in person or not, you might get ID checked. That happened with me recently with a different manga because I didn't look at the back and read the age rating. And it's not bezerk tier. Bezerk would get flagged at that same store immediately.

I remeber like a year or so ago, watching a video on twitter of a dad and his son on a bookstore, his son (he looked 13 at most, probably could be as young as 11) was holding an issue of Berserk in his hands, the man took the manga from his son and put it back on the shelf. Half of the qrts were people outraged at how the dad was "supporting censorship!" and "a controlling parent!". The people who think like this are quite literally fatherless individuals whose parents never pushed back aganist their wishes.
