Sorry... Not funny. Saw a season premiere last night about a cross-dressing character who apparently got involved/related/connected to a group trying to torture/pray/something his homosexuality/gender-ID issues away.

Reminded me of the vids & things celebs & others posted on YouTube years ago regarding some kind of "It gets better" hashtag or something... Either you get typecast to only play those characters (as if an aura is around your body onscreen) or you get charged with abuse maybe before you had come out but while you knew you were, & it costs you all current & future jobs despite lacking any evidence.
 
What I never understood about lolcow is their oppression with quite boring people like pixielocks, Kelly Eden? Etc. They seem to launch on some random bitches who stirred up drama years ago and never let go. I mean are weekly threads about nitpicking some irrelevant girl's selfies necessary?

I don't get the obsession with Pixielocks and Kelly Eden either, they don't do anything particularly milky and the drama they had wasn't that interesting imo. There was no Raven tier shit with them, their threads are just sperging about their appearances when neither of them is especially bad looking imo.

That's what really ruined the forums besides the female wizardchan stuff. It was a losing battle to keep things cowcentric. And some people did try. And that's part of the reason I bailed. I have to wonder what percentage of migrants from maxfag and staminarose are even still there anymore.

None of those bitches are even remotely interesting. They are a dime a dozen and very generic. They aren't cows. The snowflake forum is barely for snowflakes anymore. It's any random bitch that a bunch of vendettachans latch onto so they can nitpick her nasolabial folds. They'll go on and on about thin, limp hair and fat when the girl is usually pretty average in those respects. I got tired of seeing dozens of posts on someone's hair when it looked fine to me. It's a bunch of jealous fatties and immature teens.

Then there's people who posts ita threads. Lolitas whose coords are painful to look at. A combo of "itai" and "lolita". Sometimes it's a hideous coord. But I've seen perfectly fine ones where it's obvious someone was jealous that they couldn't get the dress or were way too fat to ever hope to fit into it. so they'll pot a pic and nitpick the shoes being a fraction of a shade off or the bag being ugly or the old "her hair is too thin" when it looks ok really. A lot of hair sperging. It makes me wonder how many of these bitches are damn near bald and posting that to make themselves feel better.

I’ll admit, I like some threads on there but the userbase on a whole sucks. Everyone on there seems so fucking miserable. And I’m not talking about their misandry (although that’s pretty bad), but general, mundane stuff as well. There was a thread about sports and people where going on about how all sport fans are stupid and how much they hated them. Like why do you care so much? I’m not into sports that much either but as long as they’re not being obnoxious or not hurting anyone, who gives a shit? They seem like the type of people who hate the fact that others are having fun.

They’re super cunty to each other too. I don’t except a site based around lolcows to be singing Kumbyah but Jesus, they go overboard.

They really are awful to each other! So many anons thinking they are able to police each other... “sage that shit” ... “stop blogposting” ... blah blah blah. It’s a giant bitchfest about anything and everything, including each other.
 
This latest incident where the lolcow farm staff shut down discussion on Munchausen's Syndrome-related topic reminded me that they have a really extensive history of shutting down threads and banning thread topics because they give up on trying to enforce guidelines to encourage better discussion on the subject.

Like for comparison on here there was a brief ban on US Politics in the A & H/News subforum that didn't work out, and it's an unspoken rule to never make Mr. Enter threads after the subforum about him attracted a bunch of a-loggy 12 year olds who drove away any poster who was remotely constructive. Those are the only times I can think of where we outright banned a subject from being discussed in threads, and one of them was repealed.

On the other hand you have lolcow farm which has done this multiple times. Before this they banned a bunch of cows/snowflakes and the refugees from those threads all made a now largely inactive board called /bannedcows/ on 8chan.

I think the catalyst was a bunch of anorexia/pro-ana cows?

Also they completely banned all forms of doxing, which was kind of dumb. Considering that it's better to just ban using the dox to try and be a troll illuminati and go out to harass thread subjects, which is what we do here. Since we're record keepers basically, and that includes cows dox info.

It reminds me of how /cgl/ banned all drama topics because someone went and weened Asherbee/Luvmonkeys. The staff just flipped shit and quashed discussion because a couple people went too far to various degrees.
 
The Mariah threads are ridiculously thorough, but the amount of infighting and tumblrina autism reaches levels of cancer that shouldn't be possible. I know at this point in time this kind of perpetual outrage over unimportant sj crap is fucking everywhere, and it will be until it eventually goes out of fashion, but that place is unbearable.

My favorite thing ever is that autistic "if you say you are a man you will be permabanned" rule. Jeez.
 
If you ever want fun poking the afflicted, find the Stern Grandma - there's one on every thread. They appoint themselves Keeper of the Cow and constantly admonish other users who get irrelevant things wrong, don't focus on the point-of-interest they dictate or extrapolate-the-wrong way from their extrapolation.

In combination with the ease in which you can get LCF to believe ANYTHING - secret love children, abduction by aliens, everybody is a psychopath especially if they are male - and Stern Grandma needing to be seen to be right but unable to find anything on their nightmare forum, you can throw an entire thread into teddy-out-of-pram meltdown with one post.

Well...I was bored that afternoon.
 
So I used to use lolcow for a long time, then found joy with tempcow, which was an attached place to the site, one of its main appeals being live-typing. I only watched the onision thread, and joined the crew so we could liveblog Taylor's streams, and because of onision's board being so heavily moderated many people felt "safer" on the tempcow thread (people commonly got off-topic, though I will admit that the live-typing added some nice quality to it). Eventually there was a sort of tribalism that developed with main thread (which is what lolcow was referred to as) vs temp. It got to the point where leaks were given to temp and not main because of fear of chastising, and the last I saw before I left was the admins removing saging because some of the threads would devolve into people backseat moderating with "sage your stuff" or "learn 2 rulez" and no actual reporting happening.

Haven't been back since; while I enjoyed the true anonymity that the boards gave, as well as me being an artist tempcow letting me make fanart without feeling bad because I thought I wasn't contributing anything, I like the fact that you can rate posts here. It lessens having posts that basically sum up to "I agree."
 
I browse the Momokun/Mariah Mallad thread and i can't count how many times people in that thread go off-topic and start fighting with each other. Sometimes the infighting is more entertaining then the lolcow themselves since they get so aggressive and give zero fucks if a admin steps in and starts banning people. You'll find people even going off-topic talking about nonsensical shit after one person mentions it and then it spirals into a discussion for a good 1-3 hours in between posts until an admin tells them to stop. At times, you wonder why they never shut the fuck up and just talk about the lolcow but then you wanna see some people fight over a stupid topic.

Women on that site are like rabbid dogs ready for a shitty fight.
