It's used in imageboards to not bump the thread. At Lolcow, anything off topic is expected to be saged and woe betide anyone who does not or puts it in the wrong field. 'Sage' is a carryover from the Japanese boards (the word relates to the verb 'sageru' which means 'to lower').

tbh this could very well be the end of lolcow... also Reginas already said she's giving it up/in searc of a new admin in lieu of this...

Not really; there's a ton of powerlevelling and I've never seen one tranny PL in many years if viewing the site. Just very, very bitchy (and often anorexic) chicks.

So it seems the way to prevent your female only space from getting troons in it is to make it so utterly awful they don't want to join in anyway.

Or call them tryhard fatties with shit makeup. Turns out for all their bluster, a pack of troons can be destroyed by the mental equivalent of a pack of 13 year old girls. That's why troons spend so much time terrorizing feminists into submission - there's nothing more frightening to troons than being laughed at and ostracized by the pack of girls they pretend to be.

Brianna Wu is still claiming to be a serious congressional candidate after being derided by hundreds of people for years. Some troons are extremely determined to keep making fools of themselves at all costs.

So my understanding is that Regina thought it was ok to exchange information from an admin of another site in hopes of hunting down Spoony but decides it's ok to attack other users when they say things about her as an admin that she doesn't like. If she can't handle it she needs to just leave lolcow with someone who will run it properly and won't lash out at users when they speak their mind on a site she has no business even touching user info. Given what she has done, she isn't meant to run the site nor is she some perfect admin who can do no wrong.

She's going to kill lolcow if she doesn't step down soon. Exchanging info and then outing yourself like she has is going to destroy any trust left in the lcf team if the mess gets any bigger.

Regina is the only one willing to run it day to day, though. Admin-sama can't be bothered - although he will fire all staff in groups periodically, minus Regina.

Who'd be willing to take the job on?

The site is failing so it is hard to say. Although, from what I've read on the new site Regina got busted with info from, Admin-sama has left and is no longer involved so everyone has been watching her and looking to her for direction. After this, many users might not have a lot of faith in her anymore. If anyone is willing to step up to the plate they either haven't said it or have done so in email which is what she asked those interested in taking over to do.

Admin-sama is hands off, but certainly hasn't left - they come by and purge the staff periodically, that's not Regina. Regina just happens to be the site manager as far as I can tell. Admin leaves her to run things but pulls rank on occasion. They don't seem to want the site, but also won't let Regina just have it (or Regina doesn't want it?) But in any case: admin-sama is always around, just not managing day to day operations.
