So LCF is falling apart. Rival anonymous girlboards are starting to splinter from it. Their male admin, who previously lied about leaving, returned shortly after leaving and began telling mods they should stop moderating so much, demoting them all to janitor positions. After months of berating his staff, the site's quality began to steeply decline and posts per day dropped sharply. He blames the mods for this, fires them all, and now is instituting a number of changes in a "hell week" of hyper vigilant moderation.

This is why I came here instead. While I'll agree that some measures needed to be taken to remove the cancer, I think what they are doing is more harm than good. The big problem with the /pt/ board is that stupid bitches (who are probably jealous fatties) think that bad photoshop=lolcow material. They have no idea what constitutes an actual lolcow at all. Because they are petty kids. I believe that most of the userbase is probably 16 an under and lying about it. It's gotta be.

So you end up with all of these threads like the Berry Tsukasa thread. She was some basic bitch who lied about how much money she had and shooped herself animu pretty. Not a lolcow. She was just doing what any other instagram camwhore does. There are thousands like her. But then when these threads are moved to /snow/ or are completely banned these bitches get all upset and start complaining that a conspiracy is afoot. I think that most of the girls posting now are teens. I think back when Maxfag and Stamina Rose were around the age range was a bit higher because the quality was not this bad. The main reason Maxfag started was because 4 chan's /cgl/ outlawed drama threads. It worked back then because PT was still gushing her famous royal weeaboo milk. But now she's mainly radio silence save for the occasional weird post about how she's becoming a futa or something.

But Lolcow Farm is just absolute trash now. I stopped posting almost entirely. Without PT active there's really nothing there. And of course it's going to splinter because girls that don't like the rules are going to move to their own doomed image boards anyway.

I was a SR refugee that migrated over to /pt/ when the plug was pulled. The Farms has seen an influx of new posters to the board who are unfamiliar with board culture and think it's a place to argue with each other, shit post and advertise personal vendettas. Currently it's like watching a bunch of screeching monkeys fling shit at each other.

Worse, people have been asking who 'PT' is and some are astounded that the board is named for her. Seeing this makes me feel old. I am torn between educating the younglings or telling them to get the fuck off my lawn.

I think with the splintering, lolcow's days are numbered. It's pretty much the early stages of death for it. I mean, it's possible to salvage lcf but it's going to be a damn tough job to do and if the new staff and the current admin pull it off, that'll be the the most surprising thing to come out of the site in a long time.

Old admin did not fire the staff, that was Regina's call which I really don't care about. However, old admin coming back and trying to skulk in the shadows and tell staff not to do their jobs is what irks me. There was no point in returning if he was just going to get bored with the site and not tell anyone. I don't know what he was thinking but if he expected lcf to not tumble down from that, he's a damned idiot. He got bored with the site anyway and from my understanding, just didn't want to be bothered anymore. He screwed everyone over by not communicating. Regina has full control over the site now so all eyes are on her and the new staff.

I'm just fed up with the state of lolcow and I want to give the new staff and Regina a chance but the outcome doesn't look so good. The current userbase just screams at each other and there was an entire mess with the incel thread where it had to be removed for some reason. It will probably be easy for many to ban evade so they have a lot of work cut out for them.

I semi-agree with you, in that while the site was shut down, I sort of half-heartedly attempted to defend you and they all went apeshit and tried to have me banned. That didn't work, though.

I agree that most of lcf has gone to absolute shit. I lurk the Ginger Bronson/Dollanganger Calves /snow/ threads occasionally but apart from those I don't keep track of it anymore. Hell if there were Kiwi Farms threads for those I would have no reason to ever visit it again.

Even in those 2 threads alone you can tell it's a complete trainwreck since the Dollanganger copycat thread is full of those exact people with ~dollanganger nymphet uwu~ blogs trollshielding the shit out of themselves by being catty bitches towards one another (which is where most of it's appeal lies tbh...). The Ginger thread has devolved from talking about her shitty music and cringe fake hood lifestyle to mentioning how she got fat every other post. ((Like we get it already, you're not contributing anything at all.))

I'm from lolcow and honestly got sick of it too, every thread is just nitpicking without contributing anything to the thread, I don't want to read 10000 posts about how a girl of a normal size is sooo fat or how you think she's a slut. Honestly the nitpicking of looks on there is starting to look like a bunch of female incels, I've been lurking here and crystal cafe recently instead.

I also feel like a lot of the anons on there are constantly posting about how they're soooo much better than the cows/snowflakes, making blogposts on threads without saging them and always trying to one up cows and other anons. I don't want to hear about you and how you're so pretty, gtfo.

The only way to save LCF is with harsh moderation and deletion of a shit ton of threads. There's so many uninteresting threads clogging up the board it's almost unusable. People have already mentioned it but the Dakota Rose thread is awful. The last time I checked there were 20+ posts of users arguing if large or small jaws can be masculine/feminine. It was pathetic. But there's a lot of that kind of bullshit there.

The Onision threads are also 24/7 vigilant autism watchtowers against his fuckery; Margo Palermo threads used to be the same. There's a lot of shit to sort through, but they do a bang up job of not letting any milk slip through the cracks.

Most threads are half dead, and filled with self posts and bitching at each other, however.

I know stupid things can be said and done, but if you really want to grow (or at least maintain) your site, you've got to invite discussion and offer "fun" things. Trying to make everything serious makes you a grave man.

Allow me to clue you in to why our forum is doing better than the imageboard alternatives: We're a forum. That specifically has nothing to do with how I run it, rather the actual layout of the site. Threads may stretch to thousands of pages, posts are indexed by Google and our inhouse search engine forever, and users build reputations by making useful posts.

On an imageboard, people will make intentionally misleading or shitty posts with impunity, threads are deleted after however much activity, and after 1000 posts (~66 forum pages) the threads have to be locked or opening the thread is laggy and annoying. Especially with /cow/, their site is not indexed by Google. The only reason why LCF ranks 1 item higher for "lolcow" on Google is because of their domain name, which is why "lolcows" puts our board above it.

The catch is that the forum's registration requirement scares some people off. Having names also means we will never be able to completely mirror the "girltalk" board on LCF. We can have threads about clothes, but there'll never be a thread about why your period blood suddenly smells terrible or >tfw no bf. No one wants to enter into that conversation with a username attached. But, based on what feedback I've heard from LCF users, that's not necessarily a bad thing.

This is a good point, and one I generally hadn't considered from the reader's perspective before.

I love imageboards for precisely that reason. They're great if you're the poster. You don't have to give a shit about anything. You can start shitty threads, be a completely disruptive asshole because you don't like a thread, and shitpost with absolutely no consequences. You can take both sides on some contentious issue, just to stir up shit, make jokes that you don't care whether anyone likes, because you do, so fuck everyone else.

This was great with sites like 4chan in its heyday.

It pretty much sucks with low volume imageboards, though, because they're infested with dumbass low-energy posters who only post for their own amusement. That works with places like /b/

The speed of a board is everything. It's a tinkerbell effect. No one posts on or reads a dead board.

LCF and /cow/ are as they are mainly because that's the format that they're used to. The first people to set up /pt/ and /cwc/ respectively did not do so thinking about what the best way to publish the content would be. They did it because they came from /cgl/ and /v/ and wanted something familiar.

They're also terrible for another reason: there's no logical chunking of information. Forums have automatic page delimitation, so it's easy to read a thread part by part. The OP is also editable, and can be used to create a table of contents as well as summaries. In that regard, PULL has done this extremely well (I usually go there for bonus EvaXephon content).
LCF was okay before the ownership was handed off, and I did enjoy Onee's music selection, but I think the overreach is the final nail in the coffin. They probably don't pull even close to enough ad revenue anyway (unless they take inspiration from @Lowtax ... ).
