I mean I like the thrust of your sentiment but this is wrong. QKS was not old media coming against new media, it was new media designed very clearly for the very people you describe as replacing it. It was trying to fit in to the gay subversive zeitgeist. It failed because at the end of the day... nobody wants to watch a fat dyke.

This is a universal truth even in the gay community, its the reason The L Word has nobody who looks like her even though she is what 90% of lesbians look like. Their inability to connect these dots is very funny to me.

I wondered how much money QKS was bringing in. I know there is a 0% chance Amer has a job that funds it so I suppose their parents are still subsidizing their perversion.

The truly exceptional thing about QKS is that it never improves in quality. She puts little to no effort into the writing or production of the videos. Not sure if that is because she is so embarrassingly untalented or just lazy. Given that she looks like a pro-bowler I'm guessing lazy.

Yeah, he had one of those classic pseudo-intellectual takes that almost sounded convincing at first but ultimately collapsed under the weight of its own autism. There's no need to cook up esoteric explanations about media paradigms when simple facts like her being ugly and the show objectively being shit are in play.
 
Also there simply isn’t enough topics for kids in sexuality and gender stuff. Beyond explaining basic concepts of what words like homosexuality or trans means there just isn’t anything for kids there, even when you add tumblr stuff. It was bad move trying to make this an on-going-series rather than once-and-done-resource.

I think young kids probably good with some kids might have families different from yours like having two mommies or two daddies and those kids love their parents so don’t mean even if their family is unusual. Plus answer in honest age appropriate manner any questions they might have.

Even if there was, kids don't understand any of that. They are still not yet prepared to being talked about a concept they don't understand because they don't yet know what sexuality is (as they haven' t developed).

Lindsay doesn't understand that because she believes kids have a sexuality and parents and society are keeping them from realize that, just like many pseudo-feminists believe all women are homosexual and society makes them straight. She's said that kids aren't innocent (which is false in any aspect). If she hasn't yet said it, she's close to say kids can concept because they can experience sexual gratification.

She has said basically that kids don’t need to understand sex and/or sexuality because you can explain everything trough metaphors and replacing anything do with sex with “love”. Shows what she knows about communication and development of young kids. Then again if she did understand kids she would have realized that queer kid stuff is a horrible idea and we would lost the wonder of Teddy and bi being same as liking to eat both apples and bananas.

I think that's optimistic, unfortunately. There's a near-infinite supply of new genders, sexualities, fetishes and orientations that came from Tumblr, and Lindsay clearly didn't have any compunction about limiting it to things that kids might actually need to know or be able to comprehend.

Without having watched more than one video, the only good thing I can say is that I don't think she got into teaching kids about fetishes. But as far as I can tell, she did try to do all kinds of genders, sexualities and idpol concepts like inherent privilege and heteronormativity while claiming to aim for an age group that fundamentally won't be able to understand those concepts.

I mean, she's not doing Blue Eyes, Brown Eyes for a group of fourth graders, she's ostensibly aiming for pre-schoolers to teach them concepts about their sense of self before they even really have a sense of self. She's delusional, uneducated, and predictably enough thinks her ignorance is perfectly fine for helping educate others.

Stick her on the pile with Trans LifeLine and all the other troony scams that demand money for a faulty product and then blame transphobia for the poor reception.

While I’m sure she technically could find shit to talk about (although she clearly started to run out ideas by season 2), I don’t think audience would turn up for it. Missguided or not some parents and educators do believe kids need to know about LGBTQ but even they don’t care about tumblr genders and sexualities or Lindsay’s politics. Good example of this is that most controversies have been about early trans and bi episodes. While both are pretty darn stupid, there are a lot worse ones out there but nobody beyond some trolls watching for LOLs care.

You nailed it. I mean, yes, kids should learn about sex, gender, sexuality, etc.....but around puberty, not when they are still fucking struggling to understand the concept of numbers and letters. Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Reading Rainbow taught kids about sharing, reading, and treating other people kindly, not about girl-dicks, white privilege, and socialism.

Is it possible that Amer wasn't shameless enough? Like maybe she was like, "No way this shit is too insane for me to do a video on, there's no fucking way kids would relate to this."

Or a combination of the fact that she's obviously lazy and fat? Either way you're right that she could have milked this piece of shit show for all its worth and really turned it into something that only perverted troons and socjus advocates actually watched and maybe a handful of those types who managed to breed. But that takes time and effort and I think her schlubby heart wasn't in it, at least not for the long-haul.
