I take the approach that if the person concerned has made a serious effort at passing and has had the op or is in the process of doing so, then I will respect that effort and commitment by using their preferred pronouns, name etc.
The only time I have not done this is when the person is being an utter cunt. I'll give an example. I've done a lot of writing projects with someone who is trans. They're a good writer and that's all I care about. They only mentioned being trans to me one time and it never gets brought up. The only things we talk about are our characters and chapter plans.

This person has been a very loyal friend to me and has never disrespected me. So because they've treated me well, I respect their pronouns. I'd feel like a jerk if I didn't. Because they've been nothing but kind to me.

So....if they treat me well, I respect their wishes. It depends on the person.

I agree; I would respect a MTF trans person's pronouns because I don't want to get manhandled.

Yeah, they don't. Maybe it's because they're also religious, they don't act like a freak to me. All I care about when it comes to them is if they treat me well and kindly, and they have, and if they're a good writer, which they are.

It never comes up.

Yeah, I get these stances. I guess I'm just a hardliner on that matter. My main gripe is still that, because of these gender antics, there now exists a law with the aim of compelled speech.

Right, I get that. I just feel like an awful jerk if someone is nice to me and I don't treat them the same way, even when I'm just talking about them.

By the way, a little fact about Henry VIII:

In 1533, King Henry VIII enacted the Buggery Act, which made "the detestable and abominable vice of buggery" a felony punishable by death.

My favorite gay British king was the one who paraded his boyfriend around the castle and around his cucked Queen wife. Pretty sure he was medieval, and the boyfriend eventually was killed.

my "favorite" british monarch might be edward VIII

not because he was a good ruler or even person i find it mildly amusing that he threw away being king of britain to be with an american movie star
