So asexual people...

Why don't you want to bang anyone? That's not healthy.
Technically, asexuals just don't feel sexual attraction. Many bang like weird fucking rabbits, some shrug and go eat some toast instead.
It's not too unhealthy unless you're actively oppression your sex drive, then you maaayy wanna stop that shit.

Why would an asexual be into banging like an animal? That seems completely contradictory.

Asexuals can be sexual, but generally they do it for the sake of their partner, and not really for them. It's odd for asexuals to be bangimg like animals and have more sex than most heterosexual people, but I bet it happens.

No idea tbh, it's the idea that sex drive doesn't spur from sexual attraction. I don't get entirely how that works but to each their own.

I think the difference is mostly sex drive meaning the desire for sex as an end in itself vs. attraction which might be viewed as the desire for sex as a method by which another end is achieved (harmony between partners, procreation, etc.).

When I see an "asexual" person dividing in two like an amoeba, setting up cloning gear, or having another identical person growing out of them- I.E. budding- I'll believe "asexuality" is a thing.

Until then, if you're human you have a sex drive. It's hard-wired into our brains. It's how we make more humans.

If you repress it, and it fucks with your head, it's your own fault.

To be honest, I really don't know if my asexuality is due to repression, I wouldn't be surprised if I was sexually abused when I was younger, but don't remember it, but it's a moot point.

Sexuality is confusing, so I can't be 100% in the label of asexuality. All I know is that I don't really crave or desire sex, and asexuality seems to be the closest thing without heading into Tumblrs made up sexual orientations.

Does anyone have access to a study proving or disproving the concept of asexuality?

Sexuality can be very confusing, but you're taking the best approach: Being honest with yourself. That's the first step.

And as to the concept of Asexuality being disproved, I think the survival of our species is proof enough. We've been around for 65-ish million years, all because of nookie.

Trans man, but closeted. I think I've given my family enough to worry about without declaring that I'm a gay tranny.

lmao nevermind, I got my shit together and grew out of it. Touch grass, people.

Except there have always been people who didn't have much interest in sex, sometimes to the point of just never having it, just as there have always been people into non-reproductive sex, sometimes to the exclusion of reproducing.

If the natural variation of sexual preferences were that contra-survival, it would have been weeded out by evolution already, and it hasn't been.

Possibly traits like that are associated with greater survival of relatives, but for whatever reason, they don't appear to be aggressively selected against and pruned out by evolution, as purely bad traits generally are.

Or, it's not obstructive enough to be selected against.

But, if we only account for the evolutionary perspective of sexual orientation (everything is determined by the biological need to pass on genes), then it doesn't account or explain homosexuality, gays and lesbians breed at probably the same rate of asexual people.

I've hypothesized that from an evolutionary perspective, then asexuality could occur when there's overpopulation in order to keep the species from breeding too rapidly, but that theory doesn't explain why there had been evidence of asexual behavior in humans and society (monks and priests taking vows of chastity), going back for thousands of years.

Labels aside, any person who feels a need to discuss their sexuality on a forum like this is the biggest faggot of all.
