Chris Kattan? Pretty sure you're talking about Andy Dick, though, who sort of killed Phil Hartman (he got Phil's insane wife back on cocaine despite knowing she was insane on it right before she murdered him).

I assumed he meant Chris Farley who's usually who I think of when I hear "talented and nice guy" but I've never heard anything about Kattan killing Chris Farley.

You're right about Andy Dick though, I'd forgotten about him basically killing Hartman. Another reason to fucking hate Andy Dick.

And yet, as mentioned, The Simpsons saw fit to invite Dick to be a guest star, despite the fact that he's never displayed anything but pride for his role in Hartman's death.
 
The question I've had all along during this six month train wreck has been is -Does Jones have someone working as a handler telling her NOT to do this, but she just can't help it? Or, are they telling her to cultivate the chimp-out full-SJW persona because they're so insulated they don't realize how BAD it makes her look?

I think at some point the studio was trying to get her to stop to judge by some of her reactions and the brief period where she went dark (ha), but when they realized that she was too stupid to control herself and, like most hysterical black woman stereotypes, only chimped out more the more they told her she needed to restrain herself, they just decided to roll with it and try to spin it, which is why you got the conveniently-similarly-worded blitz of headlines about how "brave" she was. Someone at the studio or her agency got on journolist or whatever they're using now and sent out some checks and instructions on how to spin her freakout.

Jones' derision of Ritz-Carlton is being hyped by left-wing and Democrat-aligned news media outlets.

The Wrap claimed that Jones knows "racism ... when she sees it.":

While Jones did not detail what she found to be offensive about her stay at the hotel, she’s encountered enough racism to know it when she sees it. Last year, Jones temporarily quit Twitter “with tears,” after she was repeatedly bombared with racist and misogynistic comments following her cating in the “Ghostbusters” reboot.​

HuffPost used Jones' allegation to hype a narrative of ubiquitous anti-black racism across America, connecting it to "the painful experience and the reality of racism in America."
