Chris used to get toys (Transformers and Go Bots, as I recall) just for saying their names out loud. Barb used it as an attempt to bribe him into talking when he was silent. I think that's what @An Ounce of Vagina was referring to (correct me if I'm wrong).

While I don't think that directly informs him approach here, the logic is similar: He sees people on tv and in movies patch up relationships with a few words and immediately get back together. His autism prevents him from seeing the emotions at the core of those words, and thinks that all you have to do to get back together after breaking up is say a few designated words and it'll fix itself, like entering a cheat code.

When it comes to Cole, he's just a bucket of his own flavor of 'tism. The kids that Bob had with another mothers turned out OK, but it seems that every single larvae that fell out of Barb's crotch was damaged goods.

So, I'm not trying to "up the creepy" here, I just thought you'd like to see an example of some of the texts Chris was sending to Catherine when he had barely known her a month. These were all unsolicited. Chris, as usual, couldn't wait to start with the sexy talk.

EDIT: The texts were actually sent to Catherine during the onset of their relationship. Still disgusting.

As far as I know, there wasn't any response from Catherine. Catherine never did anything to initiate this conversation either.

The lack of response from Catherine isn't unusual. As with Renee, Chris would spam Catherine with multiple text messages on a daily basis (despite her not responding). Some of them were boring stuff with him going on about Lego or MLP, others, like the two I just posted, were more interesting.

But again, to make the point, a lot of these texts from Chris were one-sided conversations.

Chris is basically undertaking a concerted and frankly baffling effort to destroy every part of his reproductive system. Darwinian evolution is rarely this pro-active.

That was more recent. Catherine (unlike Renee) tried to take a more direct approach with Chris. She tried to let him down easily, but he became combative. The last I heard, she wasn't texting him anymore because it obviously wasn't doing any good.
