There you go.

The main thing isn't necessarily that, but the actual level of education the average person in NK has, and whether they can even be much use in the workforce.
Dialects are also different. ROK has borrowed a lot from English while DPRK has tried to be more pure. North dialect has loan words too, but not as many directly coming from English. This leads to communication problems or people in the south looking down at the quaint bumpkins from the north.

The shared olympic hockey team had language issues because most hockey words in the south are just English words transliterated to Hangul. The north stayed pure with its own words to describe the foreign game.

I feel the world changing for the better in so many ways of late. feelsgoodman.jpg

This. Russiagate finally proved to be a crock of shit. Kanye stepping away from celebrity leftism (and hopefully leading the way for many others). Candace Owens hopefully getting common sense through to blacks finally.

Plus, I saw a really cute cat video about 20 minutes ago. It's all good.

Even Kim Jong Il loved western movies enough to kidnap a South Korean film director and force him to make a Godzilla ripoff.

Godzilla is of japanese origin; he'd be ripping off the East, not the West. Yongary is great, though...how many other monsters die from rectal bleeding?

And yeah optimism is gay but I'd like to see this shit actually turn into something positive.

I don't think reunification will happen for at least 2-3 more generations, assuming they open their borders and allow workers to travel freely and not flood the country. They can be uysed for cheap labour which NK have been doing anyway.

Now it would be amazing if some north korean goes berserker and kill that fat fuck after peace is signed, no pornhub for you Kimmy boi.

Quick, how is the media spinning this to be a bad thing that is also Trump's fault?

You know, besides being a good thing that Trump may have helped with.

And to think that months prior, people thought that North Korea would end up blowing up the South after a missile was found flying over Japan...

Either way, this is the best news that we could ever get :like:

Good, I hope this lasts. I wonder how the blue checkmark brigade is gonna react, seeing as how Trump is partially responsible for all of this.

I honestly don't see Trump responsible for this alone. Moon Jae-in did a lot to consequentially seek dialog with the north, even while Trump and Kimmy flipped each other off via different channels. While sticking to his guns the south korean president faced a lot of opposition in this topic, from Japan, the US, hell even his own people especially while the tensions were high. He caught a lot of flak for this, too. It might have gone into entirely different directions with somebody else, he wasn't even all that long in office yet.

Hooray.

NGL Un is so weird looking even compared to peeps from his own racial region and I don't just mean that "he's fat and I'd never have sex with him" either. That op only highlighted it.

This is great news for history and what’s yet to come. Hopefully this will start a chain reaction of ending the nuclear “threats” and slowly rebuilding the hellhole that is North Korea. I really want to believe.

However, so far it’s all just talk unless Kim dismantles its nuclear weapons sites- which they have not done. Our President is cautiously optimistic, giving praise to encourage the continued dialogue between the leaders of the divided peninsula, so continue to pray that things move forward in a positive way.

Never thought I'd see this in my lifetime.

Now I am very, very worried that the rug is about to be pulled from under everyone and start some serious shit.

Kansas city shuffle.

"This is nothing like the time Obama personally assassinated Osama bin Laden. It's more reminiscent of how Reagan happened to be in office when the Berlin Wall fell. Stupid Rethuglikkkans..."

This isn't happening because of Trump. This is happening because North Korea has achieved full nuclearization and no longer fears an attack by the US.
That's why they finally want peace.

If this all goes smooth and a peace treaty is signed, would that make Moon and Trump eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize?

They'd certainly have done a hell of a lot more to have earned one than Obama did.

The peasants are much more aware that their government is lying to them than the pseudo-middle class who are entirely dependent on the Juche party being in power for their relative prosperity. In any case, it'll crash the South Korean economy, probably cause a refugee crisis in Manchuria, international aid will have to be poured into the country and it'll still be a few decades before the region formerly known as North Korea is even remotely as developed as the land further south.
China can deal with any refugee crisis by force and get away with it because they have the UN on a leash. If they still want a buffer between themselves and Korea, turn Gando into a SAR, which would be a far better buffer between Russia and the Sea of Japan anyway. China has occupied it since the early twentieth century, with Japan giving it to the Qing Dynasty as a condition to build the South Manchuria Railway.

I can't even imagine what a reunification would look like without completly ruining South Korea. The german reunification with the GDR was immensively expensive and economic effects are still felt today and the GDR wasn't even approaching to be anywhere close to the bad shape North Korea is in. It was in fact one of the countries the eastern bloc used as propaganda in how well socialism works. There's still higher rates of unemployment and people are generally poorer in east Germany. Also West Germany let a lot of very bad things (human rights violations etc.) that happened in E. Germany more or less "slide" so that the reunification would work quicker and better. I have no idea how that could ever happen with the atrocities North Korea committed and still commits to this very moment. It really cannot happen.
Well, South Korea got away with a lot of human rights abuses when it was an American-backed military dictatorship until the 80s, just in time for the Olympics. I don't see why the Kim Dynasty couldn't just fade into obscurity by exile, and throw some crazy generals under the bus for the blame instead. That's how this kind of shit works.

Also, North Korea is full of trillions in untapped resources for us to exploit...-I mean buy at rates just high enough to stimulate the north's economy within a unified Korea, keeping residents from moving away with plentiful low-skill employment. If we don't, China sure as hell will, and do you think they give a shit?

I really want to believe this is gonna last, but I honestly don’t think it will. Maybe I’ve just become an overly jaded, cynical bastard but I find it extremely hard to believe that, after all these years of autistic screeching and saber rattling, their bloated manlet dictator just decides to start acting chummy.
