CSS and Vampires easy. It's disappointing that Metroid lost, but I can't deny the sheer impact AoE2 has had on the genre as a whole.

i picked aoe2 as well. that game is great still play it with a certain friend group

I haven't played MGS but Vampire had a decent story and mechanics. It was also one of the buggiest games I've ever played barring like Fallout New Vegas on ps3.

I can't really think of any other title to beat as many insurmountable odds as VTMB has. Troubled development with budget issues, cut content and cobbled together final parts, forced to release in the same window as HL2, sold fewer than 80k copies leading to Troika closing up shop. But, somehow fitting the theme of the game, it rose from the dead and because there was a diamond in the rough underneath all that shit, it inspired a cult following and modding scene, outliving the studio that made it. A console release could never, that's why PC gaming has that special sauce.

This is a rough one.

Sure Metal Gear Solid was incredible, but Vampire the Masquerade might be one of the best games ever made (bugs aside). It's also more replayable, while Metal Gear Solid is more of a one and done. I feel like MGS is probably going to win just due to popularity, which is sad but that's just how the tournament goes.

I have a feeling this has been asked before but we are 35 pages in - Have we considered doing this but for specific game categories? Like FPS vs FPS?
These pairings are too random to be compared.
