I don't like Pac-Man
Me either, but the first 3d video game I played was a Pacman ripoff from 1987 called 3-Demon. The three-dimensional perspective gave it more of a horror aspect.

It probably also helps if you're a child and it's 1987, but still. You haven't read Shakespeare until you've read it in the original Klingon, and you haven't played Pac-Man until you've played 3-Demon.

No matter how it goes, everyone should be nice and mad after the voting ends for Best Game, so this will work a treat.
My favourite thing about this thread is how it's not only made me nostalgic for a simpler era of the Internet but it's also revived the kind of frothing psychotic retardation and vicious tribalism you could only find on the GameFAQs messageboards.

I don't like Rondo of Blood but I think that was the game that introduced 'Bloody Tears' so it gets my vote (I think I'd probably like Tactics more but never played it).

Not huge on Link To The Past either but I definitely like it more than the game where you spend 12 hours farming direwolf foreskins with a 0.01% drop chance.

It was Castlevania II, I believe

I still like Silence of Daylight better

Nah, same process but users will instead input the shittiest games they can think off.
Well the current list already has most of what I'd pick. :smug:

But srsly, people will still vote based on familiarity... would be amusing to see hater-magnets like RE4 get voted worse than random nonfunctional Gamemaker slop

I don't know what is more retarded; me, or this fucking weird pseudo-bracket format you've got going on here. This thread is a month old and you're still on Round 1?

It's 128 games, 64 matches, with two being done per day. We should be onto the next round by the end of the month.

I know Shadow of the Colossus might come off as a pretentious game that is empty and repetitive to some people but that shit was my childhood.

Team Fortress 2 [2007] vs. Factorio [2020]
One is faced with the quandary of voting based on how the game exists currently or how it was in its prime. Nowadays, Factorio is the better game by far when compared to the troon/bot infested carcass of TF2 (alongside the raping of the art style with a glut of cosmetics), but back in the golden age, it’s quite a different story…

Even if it wasn't up against some faggot furry game it deserves to win for 'The Opened Way' alone. Also Agro best video game horse.

Haven't played TF2 or Factorio but the latter seems more autistic so it gets my vote. SotC too for reasons stated above, plus it's generally a great game and the closest I ever came to becoming a speedrunner beating the ridiculous time trial requirements.

Is the gator VN a better game than Shadow of the Colossus?
SotC I don't really think is a contender for 'best game ever made' as a whole. It's a well executed one-of-a-kind but it's not perfect and there are tighter games out there.
Nor is Wani a perfect game or better, obviously. But it's my shtick to shill these games.
