I believe you're absoloutely right. She needs something new to make sure she will keep getting the attention and treatment from people that her rotting legs brought her.
She will probably enjoy the attention she gets from not having any legs at all. That will be the new thing that makes her speshul. Except she won't be in medical danger anymore, which means that no one is going to care. Someone who doesn't know her might feel bad for her or think that her situation sucks, but then they're going to forget about her and move on.
Doctors "care" now because they have to. She has put herself in danger, medically, and now they have to fix it. No one truly cares though.
 
Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but what would the value be of having one BKA and one AKA?

For a non-Kelly amputee, it seems like if both joints were spared, then the patient could still walk, and if one healthy leg was spared, they could still gimp around on crutches, but one fake leg and one AKA would be too unstable and there would be no real possibility of not being wheelchair bound.

Or am I ignorant about the state of prosthetics these days?

This is the funniest thing on the Farms today. Your sister is having both legs cut off and you take a pic and caption it with the exact thing you’d say to someone who told you they had to spend 4 hours in the airport terminal on a layover?

I'm fairly familiar with leg prosthetics. Having even one leg be btk would help a lot with mobility and stability for the knee joints. I'm not an expert on the latest technology, I believe they have actual biomechanics now but they are very expensive. But Kelly is Canadian so that might not matter.

Anyway, bon voyage legs! I can't wait to see what happens next.

I wonder where she is. I imagine she's been taken to Vancouver, since it's a planned major surgery.

If she is, I wonder what kind of housing she will be put into once she is back home. Residential care? I can't imagine that anyone would expect her to learn how to use prosthetics and properly care for herself on her own without legs.
 
She looks stumped in the photo, probably trying to figure out the type of wood for the broomstick prosthetics. This is so that she too can be the next runner up to be Seamuses bride.
