So, regarding the raptors. It was never really established in the movie how many of them there were. They implied there was breeding going on, but also at the same time they seemed to imply there were just the three in the pen. It was a little confusing.
In the book, there were a lot of raptors... We never find out for sure how many, but given they had been escaping the island in a big enough number to establish an apparent breeding population on the mainland, there could easily be dozens. Even after book-Muldoon blew some up with a rocket launcher. Grant had a theory as to how many there were based on the nest they examined, but there could have been more than one nest, or he could have been wrong. The point is, they were certainly breeding, and they could be lots of them.
It will be interesting to see how that goes.
Also interesting is when exactly the story is set. It seems to be set during the storm, but at that point the island wasn't abandoned. It still had some people on it. Hell, a good chunk of the movie takes place during the storm. So that, too, will be interesting.
