People who defend Peterson so fervently could probably have their own thread.

I like Peterson, but his internet children get bent out of shape if he's criticized and it's pretty cringe.

It's probably just a snowballing effect because there's been so much bullshit criticism towards him. They're hyper defensive. Take it personally.

You could also probably also have a thread of Sam Harris's disciples.

I like Harris and Peterson, but sometimes reading the comments in their subs on Reddit makes me want to reevaluate that by reading the fervent worshippers.

It's kinda funny how he took the entire Intellectual Dark Web down with him, thereby robbing Michael Shermer of the only cool kids that would ever have him.

Weird how we feel it necessary to preface that we like Peterson before we insert an opinion. I think it's more than just trying to separate a thought from nonsense a tranny or whatever posts. Do you think it's a symptom of trying to honor a father figure?

Also I do not like Sam Harris. He uses obvious hypnosis techniques in his videos and tries to remove any higher meaning from his messages because he's a jew and wants goys to suffer from spiritual isolation.

I assume saying, "I like Peterson" is because there's been a lot of bad faith and ignorant criticism and discussion around him. There's also a general version of Peterson being a bad person in the background people pick up on. I've heard people in real life when talking about the alt-right in America chuck Peterson's name in. Not knowing who he is, what he says but they picked up his name as a bad guy somewhere along the way.

I find that annoying. So I can imagine someone who is really into him would find it super annoying.

Sam is someone I just selectively listen to. I think the key with a lot of these figures is to be independently minded, have a preexisting foundation of perspectives. So you know when to listen, when not to, be willing to reject and disagree.

Know how to take the good, reject the bad. Which I will say, I tend to do a lot more with Sam than Peterson. I find Peterson a more good faith actor. Sam has some strict biases. It's kind of like Bill Maher, when we're aligned I enjoy. When we don't, I can see his bias and ideological positions and switch him off.

Whereas I could listen to Peterson and Douglas Murray chat endlessly. Even though I disagree with both of them on various issues and topics. With Murray, some of his fundamental world views I disagree with, but I enjoy listening to him. Listened to the Madness of Crowds twice. While Murray can be smug, he's not sanctimonious like Harris and Maher. I think that's what puts me off.

Peterson is just one of those guys where you can feel the passion when he talks. I use to watch his lectures just for fun and they're a treat to listen to. He has a way about him that all good teachers do, you want to learn more because he's the one teaching. I remember hearing somewhere (can't remember where) that after semesters some students would cry because they didn't get to go to his class anymore. I think that's a big reason why he has this massive audience now. He's extremely passionate when he wants to be; but also down to earth and humble when he needs to be; he seems like a really trustworthy guy, someone you'd have a beer with; he's the boomer dad you never had.

Please, tell us more about how the Bad Jew Man is brainwashing you to fap to catboys or whatever the hell you think.

I agree, you can like Peterson's lectures and stuff he says, but the moment you put him up on a pedestal you basically doing the opposite of what he's talking about.

He's better at faking sincerity than a car salesman, but that's not saying much. He charged people $10 for a personality quiz. He charges depressed and suicidal young men hundreds of dollars to hear him lecture about basic dad advice like: "Do a simple task like cleaning your room, it'll help motivate you to do more complicated tasks" (Paraphrasing). He also tries to seem intelligent by ripping off Joseph Campbell and Stephen Hicks. Joseph Campbell even said: "Take this archetype stuff with a grain of salt" yet Peterson tries to convince people to make major life decisions based on them. Campbell must be rolling in his grave.

I'm not saying he's devilishly evil. I'm saying he does awful things then uses mental gymnastics to convince himself that he's a good guy. He lies not only to his fans, but to himself.

As much as I don't like Tim Pool, Sam Harris is the person I despise the most. Largely because I read The Moral Landscape to understand my then atheist colleagues. Harris is the most astroturfed person built up by MSM I've ever seen. Boring speaker to listen to, has diet-woke opinions which is how Postmodernists took over the Atheist community, and not that good at philosophy. His TDS did two things that completely discredited him:

1. It proved his form of meditation is susceptible to fixation, which is always a bad sign. If you focus your mind on Orange Man Bad, you're going to give yourself nothing but negative thoughts.
2. Lost his shit at Scott Adams for trying to explain how Trump won 2016. Say I had TDS. I'd want to know how Trump became so compelling and if I'd invite someone like Scott Adams, I want him to explain how the impossible happened. That is not what Sam Harris did and became a giant blue pill dispenser.

And no, it's not because I buy into the accusation of Islamophobia. It's because he's always been a neo-conservative/neo-liberal trying to regain the clout he lost when Ben Affleck called him a racist. What I find the most pathetic is that he's trying to get back into MSM's good graces after being a member of IDW AND after Ben Affleck cancelled him. Those people don't forgive and he doesn't deserve it anyways.

Dr. Stand Up Straight can't even muster up the enthusiasm for a solid self-promo tweet. I guess "don't post like a bitch" didn't make it into the 12 new rules either

His seminars seem to make them angrier. Many 'Spergs' were in attendance (most people are well aware of this) and they walk out fuming mad with the thoughts he puts inside their pinheads. For a ''clean your room'' type guru he sure gave young men the feeling of deep victimization.

His daughter tried to kill him by shipping him to Russia for treatment. I don't think she cares much about her family and see's only dollar signs now. She's become a thot.

I still stand by my words that all these theatrics have a purpose to discredit ideas which Peterson was supposed to represent. You see what happens if someone refuses to use correct pronouns? It all ends badly in coma in Russia with suspicion of schizophrenia. It automatically reminded me of famous advancement of Soviet psychiatry: "sluggish schizophrenia" used to discredit dissidents. (link very worthy reading)

Are we not that far from it? I hope we are still quite far.

One thing is super glaring in this entire story: if you would go through this horrible period would you make it very well known in details? Or would you rather withdraw from spotlight completely until you get things sorted out? I know his daughter wants to be famous, but still it's super ghoulish to do it on the back of your half-dead father.
