I don't see him taking advantage of desperate youth. More like desperate youth finding someone making sense of the world. And I don't think he's ever said he's being oppressed, but plenty of media people take his words out of context.

I strongly disagree with the suspicion that Peterson is a fraud, but I have to admit, that's a little suspicious. You could make the argument that since schools often pressure affiliated propaganda onto their students, that this could be right up Peterson's alleyway to go and present himself in a conservative propaganda channel?. It feels like Peterson in this video in particularly:


This feels very weird. It feels very scripted and it feels like a propaganda video, just as all PragerU videos do and also I feel as if Peterson normally doesn't use language like that in his speeches in the way he is trying to execute it. However, you could also point out the hypocrisy that Peterson is talking about school propaganda...on a conservative propaganda channel.

Well it is very scripted. It's a condensed 5 minute video of an idea. Normally he speaks for hours just off the top of his head. And people pay to hear it. I don't think he's doing this for financial gain, but the left has gone off the rails so much this is what people need/want to hear.

Yeah he's doing it all to spread the good word and set humanity back on the right path, then evil fuckers like Zizek bully him into charging $1000 for a front row seat and $15 for a fucking livestream. Peterson insisted and said that the price should cover cost and net them a little profit but not be too excessive so that most people could afford it and everyone should be able to see it online, as the aim isn't to make a boatload of cash but to touch the hearts of as many young men as possible and liberate them, but Zizek wouldn't have it.


It totally happened like that believe me.

Nobody needs to hear from fake universities that bullshit their way into looking credible. The university system in America's fucked up enough as is without complete frauds like the Prager and Trump 'U's of the world further fucking things up.

Peterson has even less excuse. He's a tenured professor. It's like an MD endorsing a campaign against vaccinations, or a farmer endorsing inedia. At the very least, he should both apologize for working with them, and seek to get his content removed from their channel and site.

Anita Sarkeesian gets justifiably slagged for that handwriting scam, but even that wasn't as sleazy as the Peterson PragerU deal. She doesn't have any real qualifications, nor a real profession, to tarnish by her association with hucksters and swindlers.
 
Found some interesting Jordan Peterson related happening.

I don't know if this video has been shared here already but during an event at a Christian University some loon rushes the stage screaming and then goes completely limp so they can't easily take him away. Then I found some interesting comments on the video. (It starts at 4:20 in the video.)

Is Prager U an actual university? I thought it was just what this looks like, short videos staring popular people talking about moderate to conservative principles. Like if someone claims they graduated from the school of hard knocks, nobody thinks it's an actual "school".

That's a very cynical way to look at it. People willing to pay $1000 doesn't mean he's greedy. Him making that money doesn't mean he's disingenuous. And neither of those things makes him wrong. $15 for a fucking livestream? People pay that and more to see a movie, and two to three times that amount for the DVD. i'm sure the debate will be on YouTube or on his podcast for free eventually.

It's not that people are willing to pay that much that makes him greedy, it's the fact that he's asking for that much.

The 'U' is short for "University". Even though PragerU is neither a university nor an academic institution.

Their content aside, legit organizations don't operate like that. PragerU's explicitly ripping of the credibility of Peterson's profession without putting in any real effort of their own, and Peterson okayed that by agreeing to make content for them.

If Shaun King started up a fake university, Peterson would justifiably attack anybody who agreed to make content for them, especially if they had academic credentials themselves. And he'd be right. It's wrong for anyone to promote fake universities, regardless of what content is produced. But Peterson already profited off the exact same type of bullshit himself, so he'd have no credibility to stand on.

Peterson invites the cynicism every time he practices the opposite of what he preaches.

It's not like he needs the money, nor does he have a demanding live setup. He's charging this much because he's an academe rockstar, and he knows his fans are religiously devoted to him.

Again, there are many worse people covered on this site, but Peterson's a tenured professor at a major university. He should be held to higher standards than buck-toothed retårds who think Taylor Swift is straight and that their homely ass deserves a slice of her poon.
 
You gotta understand this guys audience, he's a father figure for men with deadbeat Dads. My Dad's girlfriend has an Alchoholic ex-husband, her son is completly into this guy, He even went to one of his events.

You know, it's those kind of people - people from broken families and the like - that cult leaders prey on.

Now I'm not saying that Peterson is essentially a cult leader, but he's maybe a few steps away from being one. Of course, he hasn't taken on any messianic delusions yet... then again, who knows what will happen in the future?

I understand it all too well. The primary reason I myself am not a Peterson stan is because I had no shortage of positive adult male role models, both growing up and to this day. I've always liked old people, and all young people should have a positive geezer-related influence on their life.

Peterson's stans need to volunteer at a nursing home or a senior center or something. There's always a potential surrogate daddy in those places, and they don't charge $200 an hour for a chat on Skype.

Watch out for "someone" attempting to burn down a hotel he's staying at. Shortly aferwards, he'll start calling on his followers to purchase automatic weapons and move to a compound with him.

Fortunately, it'll probably break down faster than Rajneeshpuram. Meat's expensive, and most of Peterson's fans are too poor for an all-carnivorous diet.
