I feel terrible for Jon. He's a huge fan of Rare and Banjo-Kazooie, having the opportunity to contribute to Yooka-Laylee must've been a big deal for him. To see Playtonic cave in to appease these overly sensitive bitches whining about Jon's political viewpoints has to hurt, maybe even feel like a betrayal.

This decision pleases those who probably had no interest in the game, and pisses off a fanbase in the millions.

I've a feeling this will bite Playtonic in the ass when the game releases.

If I somehow had future vision and learned they were going to politicize their game, I would have kept my cash. I will accept my dunce cap with pride.
 
What I especially hate about all this is that it demonstrates how politically intolerant everybody's becoming.

Yes, Jon said some stupid shit and was called out on it, but I don't think he deserved to be raked over the coals this badly. I don't think it's right to throw someone completely under the bus for having different political beliefs. And yet here we are, having his input in a game he no doubt wanted very badly thrown out the window because he dared to think differently.

There is a ton more Pewdiepie and Jon Tron fans in the world then people who give a shit about social justice vlogs/tweets. But whatever, if Playtonic thinks angry tweets from retards is reflected on their potential consumers desires, then let them learn the hard way.

Wonder how many ghost busters we will have before people learn militant SJW don't reflect the markets and catering to them doesn't sell.

Sad thing is... Internet Autism Machine suggests this shit was coming for a while.

The Twitter account for the game has made a barrage of Anti-Trump comments in the past, and cursory sweeps of NeoGAF and several other SJW hives indicate that the company has a number of people loyal to the cause in middle management.

With the ongoing lockdown of their Steam and dev forums, it looks increasingly like we may have a Dina situation going down here. Can't say for sure yet, but all the other common threads are in place.

I wouldn't have a problem with this if it was applied fairly. Cutting someone off for being vocal about their extreme political beliefs isn't a new concept, it's just that when people express their love for marxism and their hatred of white men on social media it's ignored, but the moment someone like Jontron fucks up, he's toast, even if it's just one statement in a two hour debate that he probably never genuinely stood behind.
