Multiple members of Team17's staff, including Jonno, as covered, have basically shown sneering fucking contempt for their own fucking customers. Doesn't matter whether it's the backer page, the steam page, or the official forums, they are on complete lock-down mode right now against a shitstorm they themselves caused. Overnight, many of the devs on Twitter have gone stealth mode, and you're likely to see more of that as we go, but it increasingly looks like a repeat of the Dina debacle and with the usual suspects circling the wagons, this bodes ill, especially for a game this close to release.
Where have a heard this before...
I hope they put pizza bombs in the game.

Just for clarification, this is not the character Jon would've voiced, it's a generic enemy so it of course it has no dialogue anyway.
I can't tell if it was a bad timed joke or sheer passive agressiveness tho.

Frankly, the main reason I'm concerned is that employees trying to fight evil Gamergater neckbeards seems to be a surefire sign that a game's launch is going to be a disaster fire. We've had Mighty No. 9, the Fire Emblem Fates localization, and just recently Mass Effect: Andromeda. I'd be really bummed if Yooka-Laylee went out the door half-broken because the dev team was too busy shitposting on Twitter.

Openly showing contempt for those that disagree while also showing that the reason for dropping Jon was less about the company and more about their own personal ideologies? That's where you fucked up. They're basically saying "yeah, we DID drop Jon because the SJWs told us to, what of it?"

Considering gamergate and neckbeards, it wouldn't be surprising if the devs focus too much on that to the point that someone trying to cash in on this online tire fire could just say "Autistic internet gamer group attacks game studio", never mind that there could be other reasons besides the Jon Tron shitstorm Playtonic got themselves into.
They really could of just avoided personal ideologies and just say something else with dropping Jon Tron. That or really just not bother with some autistic screeching about Jon Tron in any way.
