Kinda hate the insert song just having someone sing "steel ball run" because it's just awkward, flows like shit and most of gives credence to those gay ass fan themes where people just sing the part name to a bad theme imitation. Hopefully that's just for the title drop because I don't think I've heard that in the recent song uploads.

Haven't watched the new episode yet, but I can tell who is LARPing as a Jojo fan with how surprised I've seen some on twitter act about the cuts cause every Jojo Part has cut stuff or moved it to later.
As for the manga, I really liked the new chapter, and makes me curious if Part 9 is basically what Araki wanted to do with Part 5 before he had to sanitize it for Jump

Probably not. He definitely wanted an edgier Jojo with Giorno but not to that extend. I think this is the first time Araki wanted to go full villain protagonist. Villain protagonists were rare back then so he might not had the inspiration yet. After Light, he probably decided to give it a shot though.

In all seriousness, I find Pocoloco a very amusing punchline. Everyone is out there killing each other and they open the road for the one guy that just wants to race. All the powerhouses ended up dead and some guy who believes in himself and ignores the bullshit wins. It is like that Spongebob episode with the snail race.

I mean, this is the JJBA fandom. I wonder if all the times Dragona is referred to as a dude and gets sexually harassed is to piss off the people that insisted he was trans.
I'm a doomer because I can't get my hopes up for jojo anymore. Netflix and current anime bullshit prevent me from not expecting quality to drop hard. Anime tourists are already showing up and now you have to factor Umamusume. And then I have to add that I finally decided to re-read Jojolands after I dropped it and already am feeling that Jojolion aura.
I'm a negative nancy but I only expect Araki himself to prove me wrong.

Dragona is confusing. Cool power though.
Why though? Anime is pushing back against the woke.
The Umamusume guys are rather wholesome. They even raised money for retired horses. They also take no shit.
What does that even mean? The main problem with Jojolion was the fact that the villain was too mysterious and could not tie things together. Kira and Diavolo had presence and enough personality to make up for the fact that they were not really present until the halfway point. Tooru was a nothingburger. He was shown too late and had nothing going for him. His own Stand overshadowed him. As long as there is an interesting and fun villain, we will be good. I like this team more than I ever liked the one in Jojolion too. There were so many things wrong with Part 8.
If you are determined to look at things in a negative way, nothing will impress you. Perhaps a pallet cleanser would be in order. Jojolion started interesting but it did not live up to that.
Overall, we will have to wait and see what Araki does. It is too early.

I'm not fond of release batches and almost every single anime I've been hyped for majorly drops the ball with the animation after the initial hype. Example being Uzumaki.

That was my point. So far is streamlined but so was Jojolion at around the same point in the plot. It looks like Araki is aiming for an inversion of the character development in protagonist-antagonist and I can vibe with that.

No one is fond of the batches. You are not alone. As for the drops, hopefully it does not happen. Jojo has remained great in that regard.
Obviously. This is anime. But even gooners can resist the mind virus. In fact, they have been the best frontline defenders against woke shit.
Well, I do not know what to say to that. Wait until we see where this is going? So far, Jodio has a more interesting personality and far better supporting cast. Josuke only had Yasuho and while I liked her, she and Josuke were not enough to carry Part 8. Especially considering the lack of a charismatic villain.

It's been a hot minute since I read the manga, but did SBR always have pacing this zippy? Not a complaint, it felt like they covered everything they needed to in the first episode.

They cut a lot of little character moments and some extra exposition but yeah the first segment of the race is pretty fast paced. Still feels like they could've made it a triple-length feature to start with and cut a little less stuff but it was still good.

Its mostly pacing or silly things (like a small minature horse race to start off steelball)
