How has this Part been going? I decided to not read it for a while to let it build up chapters so I could binge. And...I literally have not heard a soul discuss it since about three or four months since it started. I kind of keep forgetting Part 9 is actually underway after waiting so long.

It is rather good but it is hard to talk about it without dropping spoilers. The plot starts immediately. The stands of the protagonists are powerful and versatile, the enemies are interesting and the resulting fights are pretty fun. This is the first Part with a true villain protagonist. If you have a problem with that, it might not be for you.

Howler is great, too. I like him so far.

It's good but just know it shits the bed towards the last fights of the part.
It shits the bed in the middle of the manga when the fights begin to ignore the rules they established in the prior chapter (which only becomes worse towards the end) and the story decides to just reveal everything to the audience. Completely negating the mystery established in the first half by having all the "hints" established prior make absolutely no sense.

Its impressive how the reveal retroactively fucks up the good parts of Part 8.

New trailer with release date. Sandman and Poco Loco voice actors revealed too.

At first I just saw 『 1st STAGE 』and thought they were confirming that they would release the episodes in batches again, but that's not the case (yet). Instead the first episode will be a 47 minute special covering the first stage of the race (approx. 11 chapters). No word yet on how the next episodes will be released, but still I'm excited. Kino arriving on march.

Seeing that WB logo.

People aren't gonna like living in anime Rhodesia after it becomes anime Zimbabwe.

>actual animation for the horses
>hamon sfx for the spin
>pocoloco has proper nog lips

We're so fucking back.

Is part 8 worth reading? finished 7 years ago and haven't checked the manga out since
No. It's varying levels of shit for the entire run with only one or two actual high points. It features multiple dropped plot points and retcons, the worst main villain in the franchise with the most busted stand in the franchise, exposition bloating every fight (even for JoJo standards) to the point where the final arc is interrupted with literally half a dozen useless flashbacks, and a bigger asspull powerup than Jotaro being able to stop time.

Jotaro's ability to stop time was hinted during the D'arby fight. His moving stuff around was him practicing that ability and causing D'arby to panic. That way, he made him believe that he changed what cards were in his hands and that caused him to panic as he was certain he would lose. You could say that it was left vague to keep the plot twist of The World and Star Platinum's Time Stop a surprise but still it was hinted.

The final fight of Part 8 had nothing like that. The spin returned out of nowhere and could deal with this threat. How I would have dealt with this? I would have the characters grab the plant and force Toru to chase them. If he is the hunter, the ability does not activate and he is vulnerable to retaliation. That way, one can have Toru pursue an engagement and be left open to destruction by traps.

Yes, i remember the hint. Very clever in that time.

Seems like Ariki finally lost his touch. Well, making manga about the same fucking thing for near 40+ years does to a motherfucker.
