I don't necessarily believe these characters are direct rip-offs, just similar big/small dynamic. At best, you could say he corrected it by making the small woman to be the straight smart one in the dynamic. Very male feminist writer to make every man in a straight couple to be braindead and completely incompetent while a woman has to boss him around like an angry mom, since otherwise the power imbalance would be just too much.

As for ripping off anime — duh, welcome to the late millennial/zoomer animation era, everything here is built on 100% references and 0% originality.
 
Speaking of Jello's old stuff. I found out that while the website for his old webcomic is down, all of it is still available on the web archive.

He never finished it. Got a few pages into Volume 2, and had to stop to focus on Epithet Erased, Haven't read through the thing myself, but here it is for anyone curious

Would’ve been more respectable for Jello to produce uncolored animatics than whatever we did get. At least you could still call it animation!

Decided to look over some Twitter posts besides the one about the defense. It looks like just normal interactions between the two

That is, until I noticed that there are no interactions between them AFTER the defense post. Like Jello stood up for him, then never talked to him again. Chris himself reposted Jello's "Search for the best anime opening" video, but that's kind of it.

Also, that's all on Twitter. Unless I'm using the wrong keywords or something, I couldn't find any interactions on BlueSky

I will try to keep it a bit short.

Vic Mignona was accused of many things. One of those things was a joke about eating Monica Rial. In reality, he ate a jellybean with her name written on it and made a joke about it. They argued that was an inappropriate joke and sexual harassment. They said that they never joke about such things. HOWEVER, leaks revealed certain tapes where the voice actors made VERY sexually charged jokes while using their DBZ voices. One such tape had Mr. Popo applying "Sacred Ointment" at Kami. That became a meme among the Pro-Vic crowd as it highlighted the hypocrisy and perversion of the KickVic crowd.

Basically, it is a meme that calls perverted VAs hypocrites.
