Plot twist: Epstein actually killed himself, but the alphabet soup organizations, politicians, and millionaires are so afraid of getting caught that they wind up incriminating each other and themselves. Like The Telltale Heart but with a cosmic irony thrown in.

The media may have given that impression, but that is absolutely not the case. He's said:
  1. that he's "seen nothing that undercuts the finding of the medical examiner that this was a suicide." (you know, apart from the fact that the injuries suggested a strangling)
  2. and that he personally reviewed security footage that confirmed that no one entered the area where Epstein was housed on the night he died (i.e. he has not seen video of Epstein suiciding himself, but he has seen video, either with gaps or faked by some Unit 8200 spinoff, that omits the assailiants entering the wing Epstein was on to kill him)

You're forgetting to mention that the cameras outside of his cell were "broken" with mostly "unusable" footage.

If we wanna be really real here, the "investigation" the feds are doing into itself is a smokescreen anyway. Barr is infamous for cover-ups, perhaps most notably was Iran-Contra, as he was Deputy Assistant Director for Legal Policy under Reagan, and acting as Attorney General for George H.W. Bush he urged for pardons to be given to everyone involved. This scandal involved organized crime groups which still exist today, presumably doing bidding for some other political motivation. Couple this with the fact that Epstein was said to be "part of intelligence" by Acostas according to a former WH official and Epstein's frequent trips to and from the Middle East in the 80s, and you've got yourself a scandal. I don't really know the specific nature of what's going on there, but I suspect there's some shady money dealing.

There's also the shadiness of William Barr's father hiring him at a prestigious school where he was entirely unqualified for his position, right before he surreptitiously climbed the ranks at Bear Stearns. This 20 y/o college dropout was supposedly just so exceptionally good at math that he naturally excelled at the company... despite the school records showing this to be unlikely... Extra-credit: Donald Barr also wrote a shitty sci-fi novel about space-themed child sex slavery.
