The white analog is something like Iceland
I'd say it's more like New Zealand, but New Zealand looks less safe on-paper because they're a heavily-policed nanny state. Japan is very much not a nanny/police-state and opts to employ blanket measures against criminality, like removing public trash cans over a terrorist attack that happened almost 30y ago, or mandating camera-shutter sounds.

sounds like niggers talking about white people.
except it's obvious from white culture that fags and pedo's haven't been tolerated since ancient times, and evident from japanese culture that they're still soft on those cohorts today. so the niggers don't have a point there.
meanwhile basically everyone else in Asia is harsh on pedos, with states like Korea, China, HK, Taiwan, and Singapore outright banning shit you can buy in any convenience store in Japan, and actually having a legal system that's both less corrupt in-general(ok, not China here) and harsher on all forms of criminals(specifically talking about sex-criminals here, though).

I assume that people who visit and get a bad impression are just fuckheads. Almost everyone will try really hard to be nice to you—if you're not obviously some kind of retarded asshole.

Among non-visitors, it's strange how wrong the typical list of Japan's bad qualities is. "Actually everybody there gets raped!" Your typical Farmfag who's mad at cartoons ranting about Japan sounds like niggers talking about white people.

"They all be fuckin' they kids!"

Who told you that?

Japan's not only a normal country, it's an exceptionally normal country. The white analog is something like Iceland. Is anybody so mad at Iceland that they just make up crazy shit about it? (I'm mad at Iceland because they started letting niggers in.)
Iceland and scandinavia at large are also immoral godless degenerate shitholes.

they have extremely low rates of abuse and sex crime in general
Sex crime yes, abuse? depends on the type...

It's not so much bad impression, but more of an overhype. Food is especially overhyped. Lots of tourist sites are really overcrowded so you are always pushed forward. Hotel prices usually offset the food costs and rooms can get comically small.

Reminder for people who like to talk about how heckin' safe and based Japan is because it's mono-ethnic or whatever:

Production, transport, import or export, and the possession of actual CSAM (not drawings. real kids) explicitly for those purposes was not made illegal until 1999.
Simple personal possession of CSAM was not made illegal until 2014.

I asked my friend if he could travel to one country then where would he pick, and off the dome he says Japan. I was honestly confused because there's not much to do there. Like genuinely, I'd say Japan is a great spot if you're a mountains hiker kinda guy, because that's one of the things they do best. Apart from that...? I don't know. USJ is apparently an amazing theme park, Tokyo Disney too. Japan visitors seem to get really hyped up about shit that I can't understand the appeal of, like, "Let's go to Shibuya and hit up the 7-11!!". I don't get it. At least you can buy cheap CDs and shit there.

genuinely the only place id visit in japan is okinawa because of ww2 history i dont care at all about the home islands lol

I love Nippon. I'm a gigaweeb. I'm learning their moon runes and everything.

But I can't think of a place with a worse working culture. They work everyone like dogs there. The wages stink. They work insane hours neglecting personal and family life only to barely afford a little shoebox apartment. All that stuff you get to take advantage of as a tourist is out of reach for most people.

It's insanely stratified, too. The chance to move up closes after high school basically, so if you missed out you missed out. They pretend to be tough on crime, so they'll jail someone for stealing an $8 rice cooker but embezzlement, fraud and running illegal companies gets a slap on the wrist.

The lack of social safety net is crazy too. If you end up hurt as a laborer or tradesperson and can't work anymore, hope you have a rich family! Or you'll spend the rest of your days homeless.

Being publically known as a lolicon is as much of a social death sentence among normies in Japan as it is in the west. It's definitively not uncontroversial.
imo it's more about how accessible it is. there's plenty of pedophiles in the west and elsewhere that aren't publicly known, yet as a society we tolerate them less and deny them access to materials that might stimulate them with our laws and the enforcement of them.

I agree with you for the most part, though. They don't encourage it among themselves, but they allow it to exist. This sort of philosophy applies to other types of crime and antisocial behavior as well, which they don't encourage, but allow - for example every japanese person knows not to go to the red light district and follow a literal nigger into a shady titty-bar, but those niggers are affiliated with organized crime and therefore allowed to exist. enforcement on them and the crimes they commit are minimal.

If they as a society want to stamp something out, they're totally able to, and have a relatively authoritarian government structure that would allow them to do so, although hugely cucked by cumbersome procedures.

Some nature locations are pretty sweet, historical sites are also pretty nice (especially when they are combined with funny Japs rewriting history), but most of the temples are repetitive shit, that you get tired after the first three unless it's in some cool locale. Ditto 7/11 is just a meme, yeah there is a ton of stuff to eat but it's all tiny identical shit. The only things I liked were Hokkaido cake rolls that probably would have given me diabetes had I stayed one additional week. Disney itself is better to see at dark than any of the rides that have atrociously long rides.

Like any country, it does have their pros and cons. Of course, there are a lot of people who glazes Japan a lot or even nowadays think that is a "perfect country", obviously because they believe that everything is like all those animes/movies they consume (which are always protagonized by teenagers, 'cause it's the last time the majority of Japanese people can feel free and all that).

It's still a curious country who calls my attention, and I hope someday I' ll have the chance to go there and enjoy it, but you can't ignore the problems and explotation the citizens have. In other hand, they're kinda used to that, I mean, it's been like this since years (decades even?), even if they despise it, they don't change it, they even "can't". So, I hope, maybe someday everything will start changing for better. It will be a slow, slow change, but I feel it will have good rewards for the people.

Not to mention that even if it "sucks" it's still better (or it seems better) than another countries, like SK or China, imo.

Sorry for any ESL saaaar

I see some weebs on denial on this thread trying to justify them being miserable , as if it were normal, as cope. To that I simply say this, anime is not a reflection what Japan is; it's a cry for help.

Isekai is so popular, and so overdone, because many Japanese people genuinely hate their lives, and they would rather be literally a vending machine over being an adult in a major city. Even saying they are just like any other country is cope. And so is thinking that "tradition" somehow overrides human nature such as the basic need for a family or friends.

They are not ok, and pretending it's normal just to keep the weeb fantasy is not helping them or anyone.

It should be noted that Hitler in an ideal world; would have rather allied with the Chinese and declared them to be Honorary Aryans over the Japanese. The Germans sent advisors and equipment to the KMT early on to get in their good graces which is why the Stahlhelm is an iconic part of the Chinese army during WW2.

It was just due to geopolitics that he had to bend over backwards and ally with Empire of Japan instead since they clearly were the stronger country over the Republic of China.

But on a fundamental level Hitler still saw China as a better civilization over Japan.

🇹🇼 ROC NUMBAH ONE BABY!

Interesting, didn't know that. Maybe he thought early KMT (Chinese anti-Marxist socialism)was closer politically to NSDAP. Though, China in 1910s was even worse than even India... calling then honorary aryans would be downright retarded when nearby Japan at least had a working state, technology and modern industry.

I know that German diplomats were horrified of how cruel Japanese army was towards chinks.

EDIT: LOL NO

As the 1930s progressed, "the Nazi government began leaning noticeably closer to Japan" while "the advisors (and many members of the German army) continued to push for a stronger Sino-German relationship". Although Neurath and the German Foreign Office continued to favor a pro-China foreign policy, "Ambassador-Plenipotentiary at Large" Joachim von Ribbentrop—who was in charge of an unofficial, alternative foreign ministry sponsored by Hitler—strongly preferred an alliance with Japan. For their part, the Japanese political and military establishments were, by 1934, less than certain about the usefulness of the new Hitler government in Germany, which Tokyo assumed would attempt to maintain a peaceful relationship with the Soviet Union and avoid any open alignment with Moscow's enemies. The distrust that Japan felt was partially caused by the close relationship between Germany and China, which, in turn, was perceived as an ally of the Soviet Union against Japan. So Japanese Ambassador Kintomo Mushanokōji and military attaché Hiroshi Ōshima often worked closely with Ribbentrop to undermine German-Chinese economic and diplomatic relations.

I don't think you even need to live there in order to get out of the honeymoon phase, if you watch enough Japanese shit you eventually realize most of the "magic" of Japan is centered around being a teenager who grew up in Japan, and even then, it's obviously not the reality for most people who grew up there.

None of the things people are interested in were made for late 20's-30's white guys to dedicate their lives to.
I can't even watch anime anymore, 99% became unwatchable bullshit seemingly overnight in my perception.

Even with this in mind, they have extremely low rates of abuse and sex crime in general
Gotta disagree with you there. A crime that takes place is still a crime, even if it is severely under-reported. Japan has a massive stalking problem as well and too many people have been stabbed to death as a result. The west has more sympathy for victims of sex crimes. East Asia in general has extremely repressive societal standards and people act out or end up harming others as a result.

100% agree. Watch nipponese news for a while and you'll see some shocking patterns tbh. I'm not a feminist by any means but the nips treat women like garbage. Prostitution is endemic, sugar daddy/papakatsu relationships are normalized. When they find a single mom naked and brutalized at the side of the road they just chalk it up to whoring and close the case.

Japan stinks because apparently you have to own a shotgun ten years before you can own a non-semi automatic rifle which is retarded. I cannot even imagine that. Where I live I can basically get whatever the fuck I want in 20 minutes or less. You're telling me I can't even use a .270 Win to go hunting for at least 10 years? That's mad. I don't care how 'safe' it is.

To be fair, if I was a woman I would much rather live in Japan and have a guy take a creepshot of me than be in America and constantly looking over my shoulder knowing a socio-economic factor might rape me at any moment and then get out early due to 'insanity'. I'll take my chances with the potential stalker stabbers since I don't think stabbing can really BE underreported like that in a first world country and it seems to be rare. Though there was that Pokemon Center stabbing recently. Hope they don't go full New Zealand over that shit.
