I'm looking for 2 moderators for the Autism Thunderdome category. This includes Deep Thoughts, Articles & Happenings, and the Happenings board. I usually never do tryouts and deputize people at random but I don't even know who posts here at this point.

You may nominate yourself but special considerations to third party nominations.

Perks of being a mod:
- You can be the change you want to see in the community.
- Cool badge thing on your profile.
- Users cannot ignore you.*

Burdens of being a mod:
- Users will hate you and openly resent you regardless of what you do or do not do.
- Users will not report posts and then become upset that you do not delete posts that they think cause low quality threads.
- Articles & Happenings is literally unmoderatable and is basically the comments section on Infowars.
- You will not be compensated in any way.†
- You will burn out in 6 months and simply vanish.‡

* This was a common complaint with Zed and OwO.
† You do it for free.
‡ This has happened to every A&H mod without exception.

In general we need a light touch who is not emotionally invested in "their team" to issue threadbans to keep threads on track, board bans to keep the signal to noise ratio down, and who can FEARLESSLY communicate concerns directly to me.

Use Agree/Disagree on posts nominating people so I can get a feel for things.

I would be an awful choice, because I would rarely do anything. But I would love the little banner big boss
 
I mostly lurk, however I’d like to believe that’s because unless there’s something to say I don’t want to shit up a thread, and there’s no sense to echo things others have said.

I like this site a lot, it’s decent, I like the communication you have, if I can contribute to that then cool.

I don’t really hate anybody, I don’t have a fear of communication. I’d be interested in giving it a go if the position is still open.
 
I would *like* to nominate @Bunny Tracks because I think they would do a really good job but honestly I think they would do a really good job modding a board that has earnt good moderators. So not A&H.
 
As mod, I promise to enforce the rules harshly and arbitrarily.
I also guarantee that I will achieve a 100% approval rating within a week by banning all detractors and anyone who negrates any of my posts.

2. I have a bad attitude.
3. I’m usually high as fuck and tripping balls.
4. Melinda Scott hates me.
5. I need this on my resume if I’m ever going to get that job as a referee at the Special Olympics.

I nominate myself and @Android raptor because while we aren’t either quite the description, we are close enough and there wouldn’t be any nudes involved.

Also while she and I may argue pretty frequently in individual boards, we have a penchant for defending each other. Sort of like “Hey fuck your opinion on this” to each other but as soon as anyone insults the other both of us go “Hey fuck off, I like them!”.
 
I dunno if I'd want to be one of them janny types or anything but if anyone wants to perform a specific ritual over the banned I can convert them to the damned.

As for my noms, and note this isn't saying these people would want it, just folk I've observed that are good at staying balanced in discussions, moreso than me probably:

Tbh I think the best barometer for this would be to take a dip in the Joe Biden megathread and search through the interactions between we thread dwellers and visitors like @Hollywood Hulk Hogan or @JimmyNugget. Hulk and Jimmy are pretty much ideologically opposed to the majority of the rest of the thread.
The people in the thread ignoring the shit flinging between the people that nametag people like them, and just trying to keep discussion steered toward the topic, somehow avoiding the inevitable desire to call everyone faggots?
Those are probably your best bet for A&H mods.

they should b nominated for this for many reasons. there would be good changes to the boards with their leadership. what changes? the needed ones. they both think rly deep, rly hard, and have no reputation of making people angry at all. they r nice ppl and they give criticisms all the time about how the site can improve.
