I looked through the Spanish version of the site and half of the questions there are asking if the dreams/emails they got bearing prophetic messages from Mohammed were real.

Amusingly I found this one where the question is whether they are allowed to believe in dinosaurs since they aren't mentioned anywhere in the Quran, and the answer completely evades the question because even they know they can't issue a fatwa against the existence of dinosaurs. Their explanation is that Mohammed doesn't want you asking questions like that.

If so, it should have its own version of the Islamic Content rating, with the same icon, but have it be a positive rating in that place alone.

I'm actually really thinking about making a general thread for Salafi/Wahhabi/general Islamist bullshit. I've stumbled across so much shit in my research for this thread, but I haven't been able to post it because it doesn't have to do with IslamQA (I mean, I have posted some non-IslamQA things, but I don't want to overwhelm the thread).

The only thing that's holding me back is that I've made two threads on Islam in like 6 weeks (this thread and the Islamophiles thread) and I'm afraid people won't appreciate another one, haha. But if the people in this thread think it's a good idea, I might pull the trigger!
 
honestly i'm a euphoric pretentious neckbeard about religion but this thread gave me a little bit more respect for christians and non-muslims in general. especially because christianity isn't horribly restrictive outside of having some people that restrict others in the name of the bible. and while that can be awful, it's nothing compared to the Religion Of Peace™ shitting up the world with its regressive ideology and constant violence. liberate women by reducing them to objects of temptation, throw gay people off of buildings, and worship a prophet that fucked a 9 year old. truly a peaceful religion that should not be criticized.

tbh though the really oddly specific fatwas are super amusing. theyre easily the best part of islam. these people are the most anti-fun and unintentionally hilarious group i've ever seen. seeing them have serious discussion about whether or not farts are against their religion is surreal. it's like they spin a wheel with a ton of random things on it, then make a law based off of what it lands on.

anyways, i'd be down for an islamic content forum. to make it work we could probably also try looking for more islamic content to make threads about since there doesn't seem to be a whole ton.

Maybe instead of just Islamic content, it could be a subforum for all religious content/lolcows? Actually, it could also contain content pertaining to atheism (like the Euphoric Athiests thread). @Null what do you think?

I don't think just Islamic content could support a subforum. Besides, it feels kinda mean to just single out Islam, regardless of my opinions on it.
 
My primary concern with a whole subforum about religious stuff is mostly the idea of spreading ourselves too thin. We have a sub forum for internet tantrums, communities, furry shit, a "Rat King" subforum, a subforum for bitchy ladies to bitch about bitchy ladies, and a tumblr subforum. Would more be a good idea, and is there so much content we need a subforum instead of a few well-curated threads?

It's kind of the same for me.
I don't have particularly strong religious feelings, but this aweful, assbackwards, hatefilled colletion of utter insanity is giving me whole new levels of appreciation for christianity and almost inspires me to go to church, just to revel in the fact that I am part of a religion that doesn't suck ass...

You know, that's a really good point. I think I'll just stick to my first idea of making a general Islamic Content thread for Wahhabi/Salafist bullshit. I'll try to get it up later today.

Also, compare "It is not permitted to pray for forgiveness for the kuffaar" with "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Seriously, I can't wrap my head around why people follow Salafism. It is one of the most bigoted and hateful ideologies out there.

It's because the ideology prescribes death or imprisonent to anyone who doesn't follow it.
