I would like to share some stuff shared on Weibo by the official account of Iran's Embassy in China. There isn't an appropriate space it would seem.

The idea I have would therefore be a thread where I drop screenshots found on Chinanet with some basic, quick translations. These will be way more accurate than Google trash since I'm fluent in both languages.

Background:
Many accounts associated with Iran was wiped off Twitter in light of the recent fiasco. Consequently, The Iranian Embassy of China (I'll refer to as IE) now runs an account that posts stuff in Simplified Chinese. Something very interesting emerges.

IE has been taking screenshots of Twitter posts and responding to them on Weibo, and people with access to both Weibo and Twitter have been posting screenshots of Weibo with responses. This has been mocked all over the place, as sites such as Twitter claimed to be neutral and proponents of freedom of speech. For officials to migrate to Weibo of all places, where speech is tightly regulated by the Chinese Government is a very humorous juxtaposition.

There's even friendly exchange and discussion between the embassies of both Iran and America, of course on the censorious platform of Weibo.

(Weibo is the ultimate winner. To summariese, Iran will share deleted posts on Twitter to weibo, then Laowai (foreigners) will screenshot it back. This really is sarcastic, then the same screenshot is shared back on weibo)
(Standard Chinese is a bit of Chinglish, it means "Chinese that everyone can read", basically not typed Cantonese or when the Japanese try to type in Chinese, referred to as pseudo-Chinese [偽中文], BTW, when Chinese do the same it's called [偽日文], pseudo-Japanese. Think of this as what pirate language or weeb talk would be to the English language, which should be referred to as non-standard-English. And no, weibo doesn't define freedom of speech. They are staying within the boundaries set by the Chinese government, that's it. To say either platform is pro-free-speech would be extremely delusional)

I'll try to do my best when it comes to fact checking. Chinanet houses just as much fake news as western online media. I plan to keep this thread updated as frequently as possible if the admins of the board sees any value in it. The format would be screenshot, then translations by order up to down, the my own thoughts if I'm bothered.

I'd help, but I don't use Weibo.
Me neither, but I'll be keeping tabs from now on. It's pretty much an echo chamber, resembling Twitter. The autism stemming from it would be fun though.

Thanking Chinanet's welcoming arms, then boasting about bitchslapping the US with their airstrikes.
"Iran is focused on prolonging peace in the region, and their citizens. Chinese friends can visit Iran for (CNY) the New Year, safety isn't a problem".

Explanation: "Isn't a problem" might sound it's conveying something to the opposite effect. "Your safety isn't a problem [because there is no safety]." This kind of twist doesn't exist in Chinese. So they really are saying Iran is safe for travel.

I'm sure most Chinese would be... with relatives during CNY, which is what CNY is about. Kind of silly.

This I do agree with. "Hope the conflict between the USA and Iran ends soon and hope nothing happens to [Iran's] cultural heritage."

The core argument in all their posts seem to focus on Qasem Soleimani being a prominent anti-ISIS hero of the nation. Killing him seems to imply that the USA (and of course Israel which they won't fear to mention on weibo) are in bed with ISIS.

China spies on me enough through my cell phone, video card drivers, car sound system and television. I'll pass on Weibo (while I still can, I mean).

This is why I don't trust chinks. They literally have no sarcasm and are wired differently.

Well the Dems and their pets are quiet on China's activities. And Bloomberg praised them for being very democratic and caring for their people.
Bloomberg got unbanned after? Coincidence!
Sad to say but on the surface of things, China takes better care of their people. They have infrastructure plans, numerous projects, incentives for poor shitholes to improve. All while we are talking about transgender babies and taking down monuments that hurt feelings. Can you imagine Xi Jingping having a holiday in Hawaii while the country is on fire? I can't.
What a sad world we are in.

Anyway, 10th of January.

"Iran's official response on the dead Ukrainian plane: USA should stop the mental wars."

I'm not translating that crap. Basically they are saying the plane fell out of the sky because of technical errors. Blahblah etc.

1/1/2020, Iran's foreign minister Zarif was interviewed by "People's Daily internation", greeting Chinese a happy new year. According to Zarif, the two nations have common strategic interests, this fact will not be altered by external influences, this is the will of both nation's government and people.
Will of the people? Yeah right. Most political Chinese aren't really fond of the religion of Islam, but whatever.

It's basically a translation of the English text, spot on.

Why can't we do this instead of war? (Persian Gulf)

Oh that's right, someone wants to be re-elected and someone else needs a nation to hate on.
