I can potentially, see being mad about Moneypenny being half black in 2008 when Casino Royale

Money penny wasn't introduced in craig bond until skyfall where she goes from field agent to desk worker because she shoots bond, so... 2011. Also this version of her was never a love interest in any way because of modern sensibilities, you can't flirt with co-workers and that was also the film that neutered bond's other main trait of seducing women.

Quantum of solace before it was half a movie with no third act due to the writers strike at the time. Leaving Casino Royale as the last good bond movie (and probably the best bond movie ever made).

The people bitching about Moneypenny that claim they're book fans have outed themselves as fakers. Moneypenny wasn't a relevant character in the books almost at all. Let's be honest, she wasn't even that relevant in the Connery movies either.

Q is a much more important character in the movies and the one in First Light looks pretty good, almost being John Cleese esque which I love as I thought he was great as R and then Q.

Now that I think about it...The one from Casino Royale isn't actually even Moneypenny technically. I haven't seen the Craig movies in a while because I don't care for most of them that much. They're kinda generic action films with a Bond layer slapped on the cover.

Hitman WOA 1-3 were genuinely some of the greatest games I've ever played and the third game combining everything is possibly the greatest video game package in terms of content for a VERY long time and easily the best overall Hitman game.

But 007 looks shit, it just generally feels like a huge step backwards when IOI are legit the kings of the social stealth gameplay. Every single time they've deviated from the Hitman 2 (original) formula it's resulted in a shit game and I just hope it sells enough for IOI to make bank and not worry about their entire existance every four years, but not enough to completely divert from ever making another Hitman game again.

It looks like a paint by numbers action adventure game and the IP is restrictive enough for it to not deviate from the norm. So you'll have your standard race mission, your escort mission, your 'diffuse the bomb' mission etc. Like it's giving off serious Indiana Jones vibes and that game completely collapsed after the cool opening level.

Granted, some games absolutely nail this. Wolfenstein TNO being one of the greatest modern (if you count a game over TWELVE years ago as modern) game to pull off the action FPS with story, but something feels 'off' from the trailers and I'm not going to do the typical gamer sperg of saying it's because of niggers, I don't mind niggers in games if it's a good game but this looks fucking terrible.

I'm half expecting them to tack on some fucking survival crafting system to completely hammer home that they're still viewing first person action games through a 2010 lens.

Race? It's not a racing game. There are going to be driving sections for sure, but all the best Bond games have those. There *might* be moments where you have to diffuse a bomb or whatever but I hardly see why that means the game will be bad. Indiana Jones was a first person game that involved a lot of puzzle solving and things of that nature, this isn't gonna have a lot of that if any.

Wolfenstein? This game is nothing like those "Modern" Wolfenstein games.

Okay wait a minute are you even looking at the same game or are you trolling? 007: First Light isn't a First Person Shooter game. It's a third person action and globetrotting adventure game. There has been no mention of a crafting system being in the game and we're less than a month away...Development is basically done if not completely done.

They changed the way you get all the levels in Hitman 3/WoA as a newcomer. You now get all of them minus two with the base game, with no need to have bought Hitman 1 or 2 (which aren't on sale anymore). The two missing levels are from Hitman 2's gold edition, which is still sold separately. There is a bunch of other bullshit available to buy, but it's all remixed levels, skins, and novelty weapons.

That's pretty much my feeling on 007 First Light. It looks adequate. Problem is, adequate does not cut it. Adequate is not worth $70 and a hundred jiggabytes out of my Steam Deck's memory card. Adequate is not worth thirty hours of my time. I fucking love video games and I can always come up with at least a few games I'd love to play right this moment that are much better than adequate. I will still someday give 007 First Light a try, in hopes that I find it much better than just adequate, but it's not gonna be for a long while.
