I finished getting through the first main storyline, crafted the first Miracle Outfit, and I'll say that while I'm not playing for as many hours a day as I was when I started I'm still enjoying the game. I think the main story chapters kind of drag at parts because you're doing a lot of back and forth and little things that seem irrelevant keep popping up seemingly just to pad out the length of the story. There's a lot of "Go here to find this guy/thing, oh wait we just missed it now go here instead". And you'll see a Whimstar pop up and for me it's just impossible to not drop everything and go get that Whimstar even when I'm in the middle of a quest. And then of course you'll likely stumble upon another and then another Whimstar and you get sidetracked, and then random quests start popping up etc. I have so many random quests backed up but at least that means I'm not hurting for "content" I suppose. There's an entire area left to explore at the end of the first main storyline too that you would have never stepped foot in unless you went out of your way to go there first.
The events are better, at first it seemed like an overwhelming amount of stuff but you can easily do it all over a couple weeks. Getting an entirely new island, a big quest, new mini-games, new ability outfits. It was fun.
Crafting and upgrading your stuff is kind of an issue. I'll give the game credit though, you have the resources to get everything you need without spending money. The in-game currency and crafting materials can all be acquired by spending your Vital Energy which recharges fully in a bit over a day. And there are consumables that recharge it as well but those are limited. You'll still be aching for Vital Energy though since there's a lot it's used for. You need it to get Eureka, get special crafting materials, upgrade your stats, and most importantly get Bubbles. Bubbles are used to Glow Up and improve your outfits which you'll need to do to win Styling Challenges. And good god do your Bubbles disappear quick if you're upgrading a lot of clothes and going to the higher levels. So while you can get every resource you need you're kind of going to be constantly torn on what to use it on.
Still the game is a lot of fun and a lot of fun to just explore and the platforming is pretty good too. There's some really excellent music as well. If you don't care about the grind or just want something to play for dressing up Nikki then this is a good game cause there really are a ton of outfits and clothes. Nikki's English VA is really good too, has the perfect voice for the character.
