It’s also the only track outside of Long Beach that has facilities for modern racing in Southern California. Watch nascar come to thermal club in the near future.

If it somehow got grandstands they 100% would try. I'm convinced they're manipulating the tracks into making Indycar do all the risky 'market exploration' stuff then they just move in and take their date: See Iowa, Gateway.

I broadly agree with this as much as I also think:
  • The state of affairs where the only new road racing tracks going in are these bullshit country clubs is dangerous for American racing
  • It's not the best look for Indycar at all
  • It would be better to be elsewhere.
At the same time, they want Indycar, they pay for it, and that's rare these days. I'm not sure they can choose not to currently.
I do not care if they pay for it. I do not care if it fills a gap in the schedule. A supposedly "premier racing series" racing on a club track that limits audiences is fucking embarrassing. And what's worse is that there's a bunch of people defending it. "W-well, it's racing!" "F1 is also for rich people!" "The Masters takes place at a country club!" F1 doesn't need to go to club tracks in a rich neighborhood to make money, and we're not fucking golf. Give me a million more shitty street circuits.

However, I heard rumors that they're putting in grandstands and trying to increase capacity. If they're working on becoming a real race track, I would feel a lot better.

I think the quirkiness of a country club road course in the middle of nowhere will become endearing years from now and defended by the gay Redditards complaining about it in the first place.

Literally none of you retards are going to attend a race in the middle of the desert if it was GA. What I care about is ‘was the racing good?’ and I have no complaints about the track so far.

I got talked out of it as a "race attendance shitpost" this year. They do it again next year, fuck it, I'll do my best to go.

Lundgaard absolutely destroying Pato and herta this year. You love to see it especially someone that “failed” in juniors cooking the guys that are up for that Andretti seat

Unironically the best race on yesterday, though that's a low bar and I bet nobody watched.

Though I don't like Indycar looking in the past too much, having Paul do one more of those intros like they used to haul Sam Posey out to blather over stock footage, would be a total banger. He still sounds pretty good, they had him on the news last year.

Looking like a chaotic qualifying session coming up. NXT is having a lot of offs in drying conditions.

Which means next weekend is the first of my (so far) three in person races this year.

Now you have me remembering how much I miss Sam Posey on Speed back in the day...

So does Zak pull the trigger on lundgaard being his prized Indycar driver now
He probably still wants Palou in some manner, by any means necessary.

The fact that the 2nd place car, speaking of which, had a hard time passing Ericsson a lap down with a broken fucking wing today is troubling.
