I'm also pretty confident that Ashleigh never existed. Too many inconsistencies and I think it's pretty obvious where he got the name "Ashleigh Banks" from since Sweets is terminally unimaginative.
I completely agree. And then there's stuff like this:
"Now I know a thing or two about birth control; my ex was on the Pill."
Okay, uh, no. Jon knows nothing about The Pill. He's never had any experience with it. From what's been made publicly available, and just by looking at him, we can tell he's never been with a woman bedfully. To trust that "Ashleigh" was real to begin with already stretches credibility, but even if we give him the benefit of the doubt, Sweet has, to my knowledge, described one meeting with her that lasted for a good five minutes, to be generous.
And suddenly, from that and some phone calls, Jon the Untouched knows a thing or two about birth control.
The thing of it is, it's fairly transparent why he focuses on "Ashleigh" so strongly. This entire page of his blog goes on and on about his search for this mysterious woman, his insanely self-righteous rationalization of stalking her (he wants to protect other men from her wiles), and, naturally, condemnation of the ASU Herald. But, really, if you want to know the truth, if you really want to know why he's been after her so doggedly (relatively speaking) for all these years, look no further than the bottom of the page (emphasis mine):
Lonesome Jon said:I want to stop her. I want to have my weekend with her. I want to love her, and I want her to love me again.![]()
