Also, I was awarded this trophy this past week:

View attachment 52326

I am honored.

But, I could not in good conscience not share this award with my fellow Sweetstorians. Over the past two and a half years this thread has blossomed from a humble OP to a 5,000-post journey into the dark heart and mind of one of the maddest cows on the Web. True, in the relative scheme of the Farms, Iconcoclast is not a major lolcow, but this thread has nonetheless received over 100,000 views, a proud accomplishment. This would not have been possible without the diligent and joyous efforts we've made to gather, pasteurize, and homogenize this lulzmilk for public consumption (Warning label: product may still contain feces!), helped in no small part by his own visits to our humble barn.

You are truly the Bad Boys of Kiwi Farming in my book.

Love,
Hollyberry

Congratulations, Holdek!

Sweetstorians 4 Life

Truly we are blessed, brothers and sisters. We earned this, but we don't do it for the fame or the accolades, we do it for the glory.

Semper Fidelis to all are armed kiwis. I am privileged to fight alongside you.

Sweet is so inept at defending his positions that if there actually was a liberal conspiracy to silence conservative voices, the conservatives would ally with the liberals to shut Sweet up before he damaged their cause.

EDIT: @Holdek , I salute you.

If Sweet hadn't kept on replying to this thread on this thread, on AJM, and now on dA, this thread would probably only been 1 page long, Holdek probably wouldn't have been awarded that trophy, and Sweet probably would've been more or less forgotten, and we probably wouldn't know much of him other than a satirical article about him on ED.

Yeah honestly without interaction there ain't much to him, since most of his insane stories have come from the man himself. I mean yeah we would have found all the old writings but on average this thread would sit on the third page, before springing to the front for a bit when some new content appeared...he isn't unique in that regard, several threads lay dormant still, awaiting some new impetus to rise.

I spent as long as I could looking through his flatus-themed favourites on YouTube and dA (it wasn't long, some things I'm just not built for :sadwaifu:). For someone who claims that his fart fetish is totally not a sexual fart fetish, he sure has a lot of videos and pictures of women farting. Seriously, the gal:guy ratio in Sweet's fetish folders must be 9:1.

But it's totally not sexual :story:

(For the Sweet of thinking, the inclusion of a rudimentary representation of Tommy Wiseau - :story: - is an indication that I'm being sarcastic, and that I fully believe that your fart fetish is sexual in nature)

Well of course. They'd see his "Der her her" mocking defense and go "Nope, we're done here. Not worth saving."

The head of the vast right wing conspiracy would send the head of the vast left wing conspiracy a nice basket of cheeses and wine.

Sweet is so inept at defending his positions[...]
Sweet: "I made up a Japanese character called Tin Boo Tee. (hee hee butt pun)"
Farms: "Tin Boo Tee is not a Japanese name."
Sweet: [much later] Uh, yes it is. I had a mentor from some other Asian country with a name like that, so a bastardization of their name should work for a Japanese name."
And Sweet comes off as even more ignorant, as well as apparently thinking "all Asians are the same."

Sweet: [Obvious Whitewash Jones speak]
Farms: "That's a racist mockery of black people."
Sweet: [a week or more later] "No it isn't. It's a mockery of the speech of severely mentally handicapped people applied to people who criticize me, and you're a stupid liberal who can't comprehend this."
And Sweet not only comes across as still being racist, but also as showing contempt for people who didn't choose to be born that way, not to mention having a very close minded inaccurate view of people who criticize him, like Sanae pointed out.

And of course, there's still more examples.

Sorry if I'm being repetitive here, but it's worth reemphasizing just how inept Sweet indeed is at defending himself.

Jonathan Mack Sweet is the only person I've seen that regularly and blatantly makes himself look dumber when he tries to defend himself.

I dunno, that's kind of one of the defining traits of lolcows... At least he hasn't made a video of himself masturbating with his own shit and then posted it online to prove he didn't plagiarize that SNL sketch.

But that's probably only because no one told him you could upload videos to the internet. And because he's waiting for a computer geek to show him how to use a digital camera.

He's actually dumber than Nick Bate, a guy who dedicated his life to being as dumb as possible.

Holy. Shit.

The Belch Dimension is hilariously out-of-touch with modern pop culture, and reflects ignorant racial prejudices.

For the benefit of Mr Sweet, here's a handy example of what I'm talking about:

upload_2015-10-7_18-31-0.png

For some context, this is from (or possibly an out-take from) an issue of The Belch Dimension dated from 2013. The dialogue about "doin' da M.C. Hammer in Lillihammer" (sic) references the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, and rapper MC Hammer (no full stops in MC) - whose most recent top-20 album was also released in 1994. Two references, therefore, which were 19 years out-of-date at the time the comic was purportedly written.

Note, too, the "hip urban" nature of the characters is expressed through their speech - a bizarre melange of stereotypical black American ("fo'", "goin' all...on'nis bitch") and Jamaican ("guan") speech patterns. This highlights Sweet Bro's ignorant racial prejudice - he either believe that he is accurately representing how black people talk (and he is laughably wrong in this case), or he knows his dialogue is risible but thinks that it is amusing to exaggerate black speech patterns for comic effect.

Don't forget Cool Runnings, the movie about a Jamaican bobsled team. That is from *1993*.

It is almost like Sweet's brain just completely shut its doors around 1994 and ceased taking in any new information.

When Sweets says that he storyboards out his comics I never thought he meant it. Looking at his comics I always thought "there's no way he sketched out that page layout, refined it, and still ended up with that mess." Looking at this makes me realize that he is doing literal storyboards, as like those that would be used for a movie, cartoon, music video, etc. You know, visual mediums that have a moving component and a static sized viewing experience. Storyboards the way he uses them would only be a bit helpful for comic strip at best. If he thinks this is how you make comics, he is so lost, and it is a wonder that he manages to get a page done that is half legible. Even in his storyboards he doesn't budget enough room for the amount and size of the speech bubbles that are needed.

Sweets, I want to see something easily readable from you one of these days. These are lessons that CWC has a better grasp on than you (CWC is no master, but does draw as if they've read a hand full of comics in their life.)

Sweet has mentioned he's been in "arrested development" since his termination from the Herald and getting the banhammer from ASU.

I've noticed another apparent commonality among lolcow people - being raised on TV and movies and then making works that aren't TV or movies that still take after them. Like Connor Bible and the stories he writes (or tries to anyway), CWC and Sonichu, and now, Sweet and Belch Dimension.

Probably it's because TV and movies are easy to experience; you just have to sit back and watch. Not nearly as much work as either reading or getting good at video games. On the other hand, they're difficult to make - even a simple Flash animation requires a multitude of skills; drawing, animation, voice acting, etc. To do a live action show requires you to actually have friends, something well beyond the means of most lolcows. On the other hand, novels and comics require fewer skills. No matter what you go with, you have to learn how to write to do any of it, and pretty much anyone can whip out Sweet-tier art skills.

And his renderings of black English as spoken in the U.S. are informed by nothing more than media stereotypes from old movies and very, very old TV shows and cartoons.

Here, for example, is Grand Dragon Sweet's No. 1 source on how black people speak:

His ideas about black culture seem to be a crazy quilt made of bits and pieces taken from Showboat, Cab Calloway, Amos and Andy, racist cartoons from the 1930s and '40s and an extensive trove of blacksploitation movies (all on Betamax tapes, of course).

I wish he had more Asian characters in his stories and cartoons so we could also admire his masterful grasp of English as spoken by Mr. Moto, Charlie Chan, Hop Sing and the insidious Dr. Fu Manchu.
