Am I the only one here who finds it questionable that Sega would make VC 1 for the PS3 then make VC 2 and 3 for the PSP of all things, then 6 years later released it for PC along with Vanquish only for it to end up at the top of Steam's top sellers list?
The early 2010s were a weird time for JPGs. Because the market did exist for them on PC, look at Recettear for example but companies refused to port for some reason.

Because in Japan, a Playstation 3 (62,790円) used to be as expensive as a bundle containing a Wii (~25,000円) + Playstation Portable (20,790円) + Nintendo DS (~15,000円) all three together. The Slim model launched in September 2009 (3 years later), at 29,980円, is what finally allowed the PS3 to took off in the Japanese market but Valkyria Chronicles II was already in the works for a while (as it came out in January 2010).

Also, many PC ports of Japanese console games until the late 2010's were never made available for the Japanese audiences such as Valkyria Chronicles, Trails in the Sky, God Eater, Tales of Berseria, etc. Notice how they don't have support for moonrunes besides the audio.

Kinda funny how prevalent it is for japanese IPs to just reuse the same shit. VC 1-4 all look like they were developed on the same console with 5 years apart. MH is basically a franchise built on reusing assets and being applauded for doing so. I mean sure if the format is good enough, why not just make -more- of it?
