I was in the camp that was concerned about a general lack of characters in Age of Calamity. Now that I have finally finished Age of Calamity I am pretty satisfied with the cast. It is definitely smaller than the previous game, but I feel like each of the characters are a bit more fleshed out and they all have their uses... with maybe one or two exceptions. Overall it is a much more focused game and the character roster reflects that. Toward the latter half of the main campaign you'll start unlocking some pretty interesting characters to play as. And what originally struck me as copy/paste characters actually ended up being pretty good. And then you get to the post game where you can unlock some really unique and OP fighters.
I'm glad I bought the game. The only thing that really bums me out is that the co-op multiplayer is a step backwards from Hyrule Warriors on the Wii U. Specifically, I am referring to being able to use the television and Wii U gamepad for players one and two. That shit was great. Split screen just isn't good enough and there is no online.
Overall I wouldn't mind some more content released for this game. It's all good stuff and I'd like more. But I'm cool with what we have and don't mind jumping in and replaying some stuff.
