Why do people keep blaming strong weather as 'climate change' when weather itself is fickle as a woman (and the other problem is the areas it hits couldn't take said weather because lack of infrastructure)?

Gov. Phil Murphy says that at least 23 New Jersey residents have died as a result of Ida. He says most were overtaken by floodwaters while inside of their vehicles.

Four people were found dead in an apartment complex in Elizabeth. An initial report from city officials had said five people were found.

Elizabeth spokesperson Kelly Martins says the victims include a 72-year-old woman and her 71-year-old husband along with their 38-year-old son. A 33-year-old woman who was their neighbor also perished. The names of the victims were not released.

Passaic Mayor Hector Lora said a 70-year-old man died when he was swept away by floodwaters.

“His family was rescued, they were all in the same car. Unfortunately, the car was overtaken by the waters, and the firefighters who were being dragged down under the vehicle were unable to get him out,” Lora said.

Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in all of New Jersey’s 21 counties, urging people to stay off the flooded roads.

Rivers likely won’t crest for a few more days, raising the possibility of more widespread flooding.

Ain't that just like yankees. "Hurricane Ida devastates New Orleans, months without power projected...NEW YORKERS MOST IMPACTED." The thing about the climate change? Well what about the Galveston hurricane of 1908? That was before muh climate change and it puts this squall to absolute shame.

9 inches of rain is all it takes to fuck up an entire city. GFY with 'CLIMATE CHANGE'

I saw dozens of cars today with their hoods up waiting to be picked up along roads that were flooded. Most were less than 4 years old. I'll bet the Geico Reptile isn't very happy today.

Gov. Hochul tours Great Neck station, launches recovery plan.mp4
The centerreach looks to be complete lack of maintenance by the town on that "sump". You can see is an overgrown clogged mess on google maps street view. On Park street. From what i found its an on going issue.
Its Long Island so they likely pay 6-10k a year in taxes and have to sue their town to get them to do simple shit like maintain a drainage ditch. The town will end up spending more in legal fee's fighting their own residents then if they just spent a few days doing their job with a dump truck and payloader cleaning the ditch out.
Yep Climate Change!

There was also Hurricane Iniki that struck Kauai in 1992, on a date that would become infamous for other reasons, September 11, and there's parts of that island that still haven't been rebuilt. But then again, any Hawaiian Island that is not named Oahu usually doesn't get much exposure in the news.
