A lot of people in the modern day live very privileged lives, so they're never in any real imminent danger, which I believe has led to a lot of people completely losing all sense of danger even when they are in actual danger, and that's when natural selection kicks in.
Honestly, i never was in real imminent danger either but i still have a sense of self preservation and im not stupid

Current situation ok and slept though the begining. Still have power and such. It apparently is veering off slightly from a direct hit but it's going to come at me in two hours or so.



There are companies that make these little waterproof orbs with chairs in them for that kind of thing and/or tsunamis.

The idea is they float safely around the flooded area and are easy to spot by rescue parties IIRC. They're also expensive and take up a bit of space though.
Nice to see Gundam escape pods being made real.

The tard beacon is a nothingburger. Every now and then a wave hits the wall and splashes over. Sometimes people get knocked down. It's about as dangerous as a Splash Mountain.
