The prosecution was correctly forbidden from "Kyle hangs out with teh alt right" because it's irrelevant. How does that shed any light on the issues in the case.

The weapons charge was quite rightly chucked because it wasn't made out due to it only applying to guns of a certain barrel length.

There's no place to shoot the shit about my favorite genre without people bitching about anyone right of Mao being a naht zee. On that note I wish the metal thread here were more active. Not much engagement and it moves at a snails pace.

To be fair, that's because social media in general. Headbangers in meatspace are less likely to be such a bunch of shitlibs. I think it's because the sort of people who sperg out on forums like M-A are basement dwellers and have nothing better to do, thus are more exposed to Twatter and suchlike.

I don't recall too much political shit when I was more active like 3-4 years ago. I remember the Facebook group I posted in had a strict no politics policy, was a really fun place to be (lots of musicians and cool guys there), and didn't have people whining about not enough gays or women or blacks or whatever, at least not in 2019. They even banned some guy who unironically believed the Iced Earth Something Wicked albums were an allegory for Jews taking over the world and thus should be banned as Nazi propaganda. I mean whatever you think about Jon Schaffer and politics (especially after his self-guided tour of the Capitol earlier this year), he's probably not an antisemite since he kicked an actual antisemite out of the band after taking him to a Holocaust memorial. But 2020 amped up the radicalization of the left even further so I'm sure even they're more full of shit these days.

Black metal might be more pozzed than other metal scenes because it's for some reason extremely hip (ever since that Deafheaven album in like 2013) among the trendhopping fags and there's a perception of being "too many Nazis." These trendhopping fags are predominantly leftist urban bugmen so they feel compelled to wear their politics on their sleeve. This activates pre-existing left-leaning people and bands in the community who radicalize to protect their position. This explains why it seems like 95% of RABM bands only started in the past decade.

Metal is a broad church, and all types enjoy it, so you would have a good mix of madness on any forum. Then the fucking bugmen showed up, and metal is a really good genre for fast consumerism. Was about the same time that a lot of cali art bands started getting more traction, shit like shoegaze and post-(whatever) became powerhouse genres.

Leftist mongs have always been in metal, but online they are hard to defeat as they just sit online all day arguing. A normal person has a life, and a rational mind, so they will not argue endlessly about the white supremacy of german thrash metal. Not to mention, metal is not to be taken that seriously, just enjoy it, or don't, but never fucking cry about it.

As far as forums, there's Revelation of Doom and The Black Vault. Rod is similar to the NWN forum, minus IXTAB needing to defend YK's honour at all costs. TBV is on life support. The posters are old guard and very knowledgeable, but because of the constant try hardism and hostility towards bands and users that don't fall in line, the userbase isn't growing and discussion is stagnant.
