I think the movie initially pretends to be operating in a grey area. Long's character is possibly innocent, or so it seems at first. He defends himself in a manner that's typical of a man who's been accused, and he doesn't sound totally unreasonable. But, like I said in a previous post, his character is nothing more than a strawman that the writer builds up specifically for the purpose of knocking down. Gradually, it's revealed that his character is just coping and making excuses. Really, he's guilty. Just like all the rest of them are guilty. Their excuses be damned. And those of us who are on the right side of history, those of us who believe all women, we get to cheer when the metoo strawman is torn apart by the monster at the end. Very cathartic. His character is like a metoo effigy that exists to be burned at the stake.

Went down the Lucifer Valentine / Shawn Fedorchuk rabbithole again to see if any progress was made since 2021.

To briefly summarize this guy, he's a director of extreme horror ""films"" that are mostly raw footage of physical abuse with artsy undertones. His lead "actresses" were young women in great psychological distress, often drug addicts, who were in no condition to consent to their exploitation.

Multiple victims came out about the abuse 4 years ago. Here are accounts of the full story:

Reddit thread

Testimony. More victims speaking in the comments.

So, when I came back to the case, I was disappointed to find that not much happened other than there's a subreddit dedicated to hunting him down online, but it's obscure and not very active.

A couple of interesting things that surfaced:

  • Recent photographs of Shawn. Until then, there were only pictures and footage of him from the 1990's. At the time, he was the frontman of Canadian alternative band 'Kittens'. The lad is in his fifties now.

  • Partial dox. He used to live on 1647 Ocean Front Walk Santa Monica, Cal. He currently lives in Seattle.

Folks claim to have his personal phone number and have tried to confront him.

Archive

  • Pornographic content (NSFW). Shawn ran several porn websites in the 2000's. Since his sites are long gone, most of the content was lost, but a video starring Shawn has surfaced. He tried to conceal his face but the voice is a dead giveway.

Since the women featured in Shawn's works are generally abused / non-consenting I won't archive the video. Someone on Reddit did it though.

  • Family info from an orbituary. Not super relevant though.

Things that are still missing that we need:

  • Archives from Lucifer Valentine's Facebook groups.

Accounts are consistent in stating that these now deleted private groups – especially the very first one from the late 2000's / early 2010's – were used by predators to groom minors ; some were allegedly led to suicide. Shawn and his friend's moderation was described as passive, and they only deleted the first group when they feared there was a risk that victims would contact authorities.

Without concrete proof (screenshot, web archives) there's nothing that can be done.

  • Shawn's IRL connections.

The scarce nature of Fedorchuck's digital footprint indicates that there was some attempt at covering his tracks. As someone working in the music and cinema (Hollywood) industry with a decades-long internet history, there's surprisingly little left of Shawn's online activites from the 2000's.

Several people claim that he has personal connections to law enforcement folks. While that would explain his apparent impunity and the cleaning of his online activies, we don't have any proof of that.

About a potential thread:

Shawn isn't technically a "lolcow" so, while I'd really like to create a thread or to see one be created, I don't think it's on-brand enough to be justified. Although, being a satanist edgelord obsessed with Kurt Cobain and having lied about fucking his non-existent disabled sister for clout, he has some lolcow-ish undertones imo. He's still a piss/vomit/incest/gore fetishist after all.

Also, there isn't enough happening currently to keep a potential thread about him alive.

But I think people should be more aware of this creep. As long as he is free, he should live in fear, knowing that people won't forget what he did.

So I watched an indie flick called Call of the Void which was… mid. Much like the lead actress. I think it had great potential but sadly didn’t decide to exploit it.

It’s a shame, because I feel like it could have potentially been one of the greats if it they had somehow gone further with it. It’s basically Temu Resolution without the addiction story plus an indie band.

It’s probably worth a watch if you have nothing to do and want to watch something absolutely waste its potential.

The Void (2016?) was awesome . I thought this was about that at first

Watched about half an hour of Mysterious Ways before turning it off. It’s not so bad, it’s just… bland. I actually liked the main actress and thought she did her job pretty well, but overall the script felt like it took way too long to get where it needed to be. Could be it gets better but I just got bored.

Hysteria! was much better re:the same theme though it obviously was not really trying to be a comedy. Shame Bruce Campbell wasn’t enough to get it renewed for a second season.

Still good enough as it is.

Also, Bloody Axe Wound was, like, a 7 out of 10. Definitely worth a watch even if it’s not fantastic. Loved the concept, but execution was a bit meh.

The Chris Stuckman flick? Looks mid but I'll give him this: it actually looks like a movie unlike the Channel Autism or AVGN movies.
Y'know, Stuckman is a huge fucking normie, and it's clear he is the tamest house pet of a "critic" on YouTube. I don't follow his content and probably never would, so believe me when I say I have no love at all for the guy. And if there are any scandals about him floating about other than his sheer toothlessness, please forgive me and I will recuse myself immediately.

But, holy shit, the other critics who attack him are such goddamned autistic, fart sniffing, self-important, insufferable faggots that I kind of hope the guy succeeds just to spite them.

so I got a cheap-ish projector
the wife was mildly annoyed until she found out it was a warehouse liquidation of actually THREE cheap-ish projectors for twenty bucks, I sold one to a coworker for thirteen bucks, gave one to her sister's family, so it was seven bucks and a very cool thing for a household with a kid and an elderly person so getting to the movies isn't going to be in the cards for a while
she was REALLY sold on it when we caught the back half of Lifeforce on cytube
seriously Lifeforce really is an amazingly great movie, and a big screen helps it a lot

then we started the new Street Trash, then she realized it's really not half-assing being Street Trash around the blue monster whipping out its dick and tabled it for when she's more in the mood for Street Trash

but yeah I cannot speak highly enough about getting a projector especially now that they're not like, a thousand dollars like a quarter century ago
you think it's okay that you have the big (by our oldfag standards) HDTV sorta close but yeah nah
it's not The Big Screen
I had a buddy who had a projector back when they were that expensive and I thought it was sorta the same but that was 25 years of cope

and it'll make watching 1978 with shitty MTL script on a laptop pretty workable too, so I won't have to time that shit
Agree, brother. Turned my garage into a mini theater. Got a projector for a steal off feebay, got a massive pulldown screen, wired up speakers around, wall of CRTs and consoles behind it. All my VHS tapes and DVDs set up down there. Some nice italian leather theater recliners with built in asskicker speakers a family member was trying to get rid of. Got all my VCRs, and DVD players, and stream stuff wired into a main hub for easy switching.
Still a work in progress, wanna get a stand up popcorn maker and a minifridge set up too, pretty it up some more, maybe even hang velvet curtains to make it more theater-y.

But there's no reason NOT to make a small theater in your house now. Old projectors are dirt cheap, and have HDMI and analog hookups. Either hang up a sheet or get a proper screen for $20.

Being able to watch my movies big, dumb and loud has been amazing for my enjoyment, and everyone loves it when they come over.
Plus, playing shit like Mario Kart or Halo 3 couch coop style on a massive, loud area is peak enjoyment. I call it the Retard Room. When I'm blitzed drunk and wanting to jam to Type O Negative or Creed as loud as I can, or watch Indiana Jones loud enough to shake my eyeballs, I can go down there and it's just me in my Retard Room.

It really does change the way you watch shit. When I first got it dialed in and set up, my wife and I dragged a bed down there, watched the MATI stream on election night, and drank jack and coke and ate homemade Big Macs. It was something I'll never forget.

I'm thinking of getting back into reading horror mags again.
Anyone here keep up with any of them and can vouch how far they've gone with the lefty shit? I know any horror magazine is going to have some of that but I just don't want it to be constant and annoying.
I was a big HorrorHound fan. Anybody know how that's going?

And let's be honest... there's no way this will never not be the greatest ending theme to a horror film.

Weapons released today so I was wondering if anyone watched it. I read the script a couple weeks ago before the movie was released and I thought the story was okay-ish.

Here is the script if you are interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/WeaponsMovie/comments/1mknapm/anyone_got_the_weapons_script/

The story structure is based on Paul Thomas Anderson's Magnolia, aka an interwoven anthology film where each chapter explores a character in different times that lead to the final reveal at the end of what had happened. Like first you started with the teacher Ms. Gandy who lost the kids, then you go the Josh Brolin dad whose kid was part of Gandy's class and disappeared, you go to the cop who is Gandy's lover and is trying to find the kids, etc.

The key character of it all is Alex, aka the boy of Ms. Gandy's class that did not disappear, of which the last segment of the movie is dedicated to. Apparently, the entire culprit to why the kids disappeared is a witch who is a relative to the Alex's mom. To become young, the witch (she can be seen in the trailers as an old lady with some weird makeup and a colored wig) corrupted the parents by corrupting them with black goo/blood to become zombie slaves. The witch demanded Alex to do what she said or else she will make the parents commit self-harm. This happened for several weeks.

Soon the witch decided to corrupt Alex's class, aka Ms. Gandy's class, by using Valentine cards sent to Alex as part of a class project. The witch used the cards with the black goo as part of some ritual leading to the kids of the class to start Naruto-running to the boy's house. The witch also managed to corrupt some folks like the Asian principal (aka MCU Wong), the cop, and a drug addict and tried to get them to attack Josh Brolin and Ms. Gandy who were trying to solve the case. The basic rituals is the command to attack is basically just attaching the hair to some magic tree branch and then snapping it and the zombies to command is putting your own blood on the magic sticks with the zombies' hair.

Brolin and Gandy managed to head to Alex's house and killed all the aforementioned corrupted people. Brolin found the lost kids in the basement but then got ambushed and corrupted by the witch, of which he then attacked Ms. Gandy. However, Alex managed to get the lost kids to go after and kill the witch by putting his own blood on the branches with the lost kids' hair and putting the witch's wig on the magic tree branch to then snap it.

There was also apparently a weird scene where one of Brolin's dreams involved a giant AR-15 rifle floating on top of his house. I think it implies his disappeared kid could be a school shooter because he bullied Alex and that went nowhere so I don't know. I also thought that parents would be suspicious that Alex was the only kid that was spared and could just go after him and his house, thus discovering the witch and her shenanigans. Police are also incompetent in movies as always, including in this movie.

Let me know if the acting, directing, and cinematography does the script justice because I seen a lot of reviews stating this movie is good.

Weapons was good. Sign of the times with a message of "Fuck you parasitic boomers". Issues with internal logic in a couple places at the the end and it is crafted to be watched with an audience in a movie theater as opposed to standing up on its own imo. Good experience with a precient message. Worth seeing if you still go to the theater.

Loved Weapons. The parasitic boomer stuff is a lot more elegant than another recent movie. Almost works as a Stephen King movie where something bad happens and you have this small town go fucking crazy.

I only read the horror news site and not the magazines but honestly they are a lot more about promoting movies from studios that plant stories (and they don't fund wokeslop unless you draw the line at Sinners or Barbarian) and various niche celebs who get clicks. A lot more "Jeffrey Combs/Linnea Quigley/Justin Long is in a new horror movie!!!" than the latest troon movie covered in Contrapoints lighting. I Saw The TV Glow probably had more coverage than other limited releases but A24 is a story planting studio and that had some real buzz and notably didn't cast dysgenic troons (well one is a Theyfab) as leads.

I love The Beyond and was gonna post about how one of the movies recently mentioned here was really good but I caught it days after The Beyond and they totally lifted the ending.

I was thinking of going to watch Weapons tomorrow but I have to find out what a twink and an alcoholic hack fraud think about it first

(The twink is also an alcoholic hack fraud)

Speaking of horror news/reviews sites, what ones do you guys check? The only one I used to check was Bloody Disgusting, but they've been shit for years now.
