This is an odd one. But Clive Barker was working on a graphic novel called ZOOmbies which never came out, but was optioned to be a movie. Well, it randomly dropped this year under the name Night of the Zoopocalypse. I don't know how much involvement Clive Baker has had with the movie. Just funny his name is tied to a children's movie.

Here is the trailer

I think at one point Disney has optioned both Thief of Always and Arabat for movies. Obviously he has a reputation for extreme horror, but he's pretty good writing stuff for kids. He is in poor health,so I don't know how much he actually had to do with this movie.

Why? Just because it looks like the standard "boneless blob GrubHub ad character design" for 3D CGI animated films these days, only more rounded, overly soft and hideous?
I think one of the characters was a big cat but I couldn't tell because it looked like a long armed body builder on 4 legs. What gets me is so much mainstream CG animations is either boring or ugly looking, but you can find independent animators on Youtube that make beautiful stuff.

Does Sinner actually get better, or it’s just mostly racial grievances and music? Because holy shit I’m about 12 minutes in and so bored I’m about to turn it off.

Was it just media overhype?

Lately I've been reading Warhammer 40k horror stories and wondering why the hell GW never went for low budget imperial guard/sister of battle movies. The works of Peter Fehervari in particular showed me you could make some really good horror with chaos and regular joes let alone anybody in the armed forces. Real hellraiser /silent hill shit

The big appeal is there's literally nothing you can't do or go in that universe. You want to go medieval times with the occasional gun? Judge dredd future city? modern times slum? Just add demons, chainsaws and laser weapons anywhere and Boom

They did do a corny short movie with space marines in the 90s but that shit was TOO low budget.

Space marines need to be something you barely see. A walking terminator with an an uncanny sometimes stunted presence.

it’s just mostly racial grievances
That's all modern horror is any more. Anything main stream is a nigger complaining white people exist.

GW are a model company. Any attempt to leave that has resulted in mixed quality at best. Almost all Warhammer media is bad. It was fun bad early on but the longer it's gone on the worse it's become. The CGI space marine movie tried to do it and it's one of the worst movies I've ever seen.

Yeah no. It may not have had the best CG, but I am easy to please and it had Terrance stamp and John Hurt as elderly space marines.

The quality of their authorized work can be mixed but there is good stuff to be had. Some episodes of hammer and bolter I saw were good and had decent horror vibes if you can look past the cheap animation. I particularly liked the Warhammer episode of secret level.

I've watched about 40 mins and the director knows how to frame some really beautiful takes.

The bit before the emo twin doggystyles his fat cousin in the shed has an amazing part with the truck and central framing. It does look amazing.

I thought it was the twin's mother until they started fucking. She looked a good 20 years older than Michael B. Jordan. In reality, the actress is only 1 year older.

But far as I'm aware, they aren't cousins in the movie, but boy is she fat.

I watched Barbarian and I don't know why people recommend it. It's very generic and doesn't make the most of it's story. The first hour is engaging and Justin Long's character tells an interesting story. I like where he was going until it became a generic cannibal movie. I went into it blind and liked the set up but the longer it went on the more modern it got until it was obvious only the black people were good and all the whites were evil or stupid.

Could have lost half an hour and it would have been better for it. Other than saying faggot in a modern movie I don't see why it's praised. It's average all round. I think some of the shots of the staircase are based on silent hill 2 camera angles. It looked so similar in the framing.

I really liked how it went from a suspenseful horror, to a borderline horror comedy, to a monster horror movie. While having an overtone of rape that didn't feel the need to beat you over the head over it. If the cops who brushed the main chick off were both white I might agree but I never got a racial or woke bent from it.

But it is a very weird movie and overhyped as much as I enjoyed it. Curious to see how Weapons and that Resident Evil movie Cregger is supposed to direct turn out.
