I don't remember any of that in Terrifier 1, though. Which was a perfectly okay movie, I guess. If the sequels had just been Art killing a group of characters every year on Halloween it'd probably be better to me. Instead of having these bloated storylines and recurring characters that just don't work.
That happened in the 9th circle, the short that predates the first terrifier movie, you can watch the extended cut on tubi it's called all hallows eve. The 9th circle was also the book the girl was reading at the end of 3. Alot of people tend to not like it but personally I liked it alot definitely worth checking out even if you have to turn it off.

Holy shit I just watched A Cure for Wellness and it's so fucking bad it's unreal. The whole story is so predictable, something kind of tries to happen but really doesn't, then it happens and it's so booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooring. boring boring boring boring cheap movie God fucking damn it.

I stopped watching movies for...fucking years. Watched Bullet Train yesterday and thought I might feel like watching a horror today and I remembered why I stopped watching films at home - because I get so irrationally angry and pissed off when I'm robbed of over 2hours of my life. Yeah this shit is 2 and a half hours of literally nothing. Not a thing. I'd rather read terms and conditions than watch anything like it ever again. Fuck this shit I'm never ever watching a movie with below 8 on IMDB again in my life.

I liked The Lords of Salem. I'm not much of a Rob Zombie movie fan. I like certain aspects of his Halloween movies, but he really felt the need to shoehorn in a bunch of the white trash hillbilly shit he loves so much, and the movies seriously suffered as a result. I tried watching House of 1000 Corpses when it came out on DVD with my girlfriend at the time (she loved horror movies too), but at some point we both got bored of the movie and ended up fucking instead. I sometimes think about giving it another try, but I never do. His movies just don't appeal to me, so I was really surprised that I liked The Lords of Salem.

Shit, I watched this when it came out, and while it does drag in spots, I liked it.

House of 1000 Corpses is just really fun imo and a great example of a horror comedy done right. I hate "horror comedies" that are just comedy movies with a horror theme. @Internet War Criminal mentioned This is the End and Tucker and Dale being decent horror comedies but those are really just full on comedy movies with no real horror. House of 1000 Corpses reminds me a lot of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 which is one of my all time favorite movies and it's the best example of a true horror comedy that I can think of, a movie that is funny but also has serious horror elements as well. 1000 Corpses is like a homage to grindhouse horror movies on crack which is perfect to my tastes. I'm also a big fan of the strange editing style 1000 Corpses has and really helps set the mood for the movie.

Strange to see so many people shit on it without any good reason tbh. If you think it's boring fair enough I guess but you're like an alien from my perspective, I just don't relate or understand because I think 1000 Corpses is a blast. Criticizing it for having hillbilly characters is a strange criticism imo since many horror classics are hillbilly horror movies like Hills Have Eyes, Children of the Corn, Gator Bait, Deliverance, and I can go on and on.

EDIT: Calling Gator Bait a horror movie might be a stretch but it is a rape revenge movie so it's close enough to me

Rob Zombie is a surprisingly competent director, considering he started as a musician, but the guy has a very narrow style and tone to his movies. He's like the directorial equivalent of a Hawaiian pizza, fun to order every once in a while but not a staple.

I thought zombies halloween movies were pretty great (william forsythe in the first one is legendary) much more brutal and gave some needed insight into why he did what he did. Also changed his age and made it more realistic. I also enjoyed house of 1000 corpses and devils rejects, 3 from hell is just ok. I feel like that 31 movie is teetering on the edge of being totally shit and I can see why people think it's just cringe. I didn't like lords of Salem at all or really any of his other movies that come to mind but I'm still surprised people hate all of his movies with such passion.

ETA: regardless if you like house of 1000 corpses or not you have to appreciate how talented Bill moseley is to have played the newscaster delivering the news about the missing cheerleaders and then in the next scene he is playing Otis going on one of his tirades and very few people even noticed it. Only reason I picked up on it is his voice and watching it so many times.

Every time I watch a Rob Zombie movie I feel ashamed of myself for being stupid enough to give him another chance. At this point I'm sure I'd be better off exploring my Jordan Peele backlog.
At least Rob is trashy and self aware, he isn't making high art, but my nigga, Jordan Peele wants you to suck him off for his ingenuity of white people bad, black dindu nuffin. At least Rob I get some decent kills and okay music.

Rob wants to make fun exploitation movies like from the 60s and 70s, Peele wants to make high art movies that make people think, but really it's just "Black people oppressed it's the white mans fault even though I'm rich I'm oppressed". Remember when Blaxploitation was a thing and it was just movies getting made about shit and some times it was just a rip off of something, like Abby. I would take that over all these "BLACK OPRESSED BLACK OPRESSED" movies that keep coming out. Peele should have just stuck to comedy.

I can only defend Rob Zombie with 1000 Corpses and Devils Rejects tbh, I'm not a fan of anything else he did, his Halloween movies are pretty laughable because it feels like Rob Zombie completely missed the point on what made the first Halloween (and second to a lesser extent) so good. Trying to give Michael this oppressed and sympathetic story was really dumb and Rob's version of Laurie was so annoying for no reason. But whatever, it's not like Rob's Halloween movies are the only ones that suck so no big deal. What I can't forgive Rob for is 3 From Hell because that movie completely ruined Devils Rejects amazing ending for nothing. And this is his own original creation! The movie is so shitty and unnecessary literally the only thing good about it is the intro with Sid Haig.

If Rob really wanted to make a third movie about the Firefly family, he should have made it a prequel showing a younger Otis and Captain Spaulding and actually give us a real look at Doctor Satan in his prime. That could have been a grat movie assuming there's a cast good enough to channel a younger Sid Haig and Bill Mosely. I watched Lords of Salem once and I mostly thought it was boring and cringe and from that point on I decided that I'm done with Rob Zombie movies and I'll just stick with his 2 good movies, House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects (amazing those 2 movies turned out so well considering Rob was literally a novice at filmmaking). Maybe his Werewolf Women of the SS short was good.

He also changed mother firefly actress between house of 1000 corpses and devils rejects, overlooked by many but really pissed me off because I thought the original lady did a phenomenal job

Nothing will top the original two Halloween movies for me, I love them both and watch them like one big movie. I have the ultimate edition of Halloween 2 that adds alot of dialogue extra scenes and an alternate ending. Doesn't seem to be working on archive atm but I downloaded it.

Karen Black demanded more money to reprise her role (I really think that was just her way of saying she didn't want to do it), and Zimbie replaced her with Callahan from Police Academy.

Rob Zombie's made a lot of stupid moves in his ouvre, but I'm not holding that one against him.

I don't even think the other lady is bad I just thought the original lady did such a good job it pissed me off but is a small gripe

@Samhain once they kill the cops and it turns into halloween night after they get drunk things get extremely weird and that's why I understand why people can't bring themselves to like the movie.

Yeah I always watch both Halloween 1 and 2 on halloween as one big movie as well, the only way to do it. Is the extended cut of Halloween 2 the og Halloween or the Rob Zombie version? If it's the original I'd love to check that out because I've never heard of it.

Yea it's the original also adds an alternate ending I won't spoil but ties up a loose end. You can download it off archive

Archive also has the original nbc airing of halloween in 1981 with added scenes only for TV to promote halloween 2 which was released in theaters the same night. The quality is terrible but it adds some cool scenes.

The halloween 2 ultimate edition is much better DVD quality

Besides people who download it archive is currently the only source for these 2 edits on the regular internet and they aren't working on the site atm so I'd download them if you wanna watch

Ending's on on YT (not the whole alternate cut):

I think the TV cut of Halloween is on DVD at least, maybe made it to HD at some point? Dunno

I know the 2nd one made it to DVD like 20 years ago but you can still buy it on eBay I'm sure I don't think the 1st movie ever got a DVD with those made for TV scenes though

The 2nd one is way more significant it adds alot more scenes and diallogue that make the movie seem more whole. It's to the point I will only watch that version now everyone is different though you guys could watch it and think it's retarded lol

I'm glad Archive is back, I genuinely thought they got buttfucked into oblivion. Can you post a link to the extended Halloween 2
