I've been watching lots of old Monstervision episodes. In the one for Its Alive (1974) Joe Bob says nigger and there is a scene in the movie where they talk about "retard" babies.

Take me back.

The trailer for Eggers Nosferatu remake has dropped

I am trying not to feel any hype given......you know......the last decade of..... this...

....but the Eggers movies I have not watched (i.e. the VVitch and The Northman) seem to have stood the test of time to continue being coomed over by non-pozzed horror niggers enough for me to consider eventually watching them, and the Eggers movie I have watched (i.e. The Lighthouse) was a solid movie in its own right, so we may actually stand half a chance of this being good

I am cautiously optimistic. Given this is Eggers' passion project, it will likely have his touch on several classic scenes from the original. Any social commentary analysis will come from the film critics such as the homoerotic subtext in The Lighthouse.

I really despise remakes of perfect movies, especially when the perfect movie in question is one of my all time favorite movies, so I will be skipping this 100%. It takes a special kind of hubris to watch Nosferatu and think "I'm better than this Murnau faggot, I can make this even more iconic and perfect than the original!"

What about being equal to that Murnau faggot?

Herzog made a point of not recreating any shots from the original. I hope Eggers doesn't either.

I clicked on the trailer expecting something less generic. I mean if you told me that was Universal's 18th horrorverse cinematic universe reboot I'd believe it. Not really the movie's fault that every horror trailer is edited the same way though... probably the soundtrack isn't even from the movie.

You're missing out by avoiding the Herzog remake. It is slow but it is a masterpiece of arthouse horror. But if you want, Mr. Schlockmeister, there's always the unofficial sequel Nosferatu in Venice!

Be honest lads the transition at 7-8 seconds is pretty hot. Not the best trailer I've seen, but the movie does look pretty damn handsome. I'm putting all my eggs in this basket, it'll be a solid 8 and I'll eat it.

When I had covid a few years back I laid in bed for an entire week with one of those THC vape pens and some codeine syrup and ran through this 50 movie boxset of low budget horror trash.

There's some bangers on here though like Hell's Highway, In The Woods, Caregiver, Trees, At The House of Madness, and Fungicide.

I was fading in and out of consciousness for half the set. But it was a good time.

So I'm finishing up on watching Columbo and The Orville, so I'm gonna start watching a bunch of horror anthology tv shows. So far I've got Monsters (1988), Tales from the crypt, Tales from the darkside, Friday the 13th the series, the outer limits, the twilight zone, the hitchiker, Ray Bradbury theater and semi-related Kolchak and it's remake. I think I read ITT that Peeles Twilight Zone is trash so I didn't grab that. Does anyone have an opinion about the creepshow show and is there any I've missed that I should add to the list?

The Creepshow series is awful. Avoid like the plague. The only good that came of it was some merch like toys of The Creep.

Agree with Bruno on the Creepshow series - it's really lousy and the tone of the episodes are all over the place (at least for the first season, which was all I bothered with). It stumbles right out the gate with an adaptation of the really forgettable Stephen King short-story, "Gray Matter", and a lame haunted dollhouse story.

Tales from Crypt on the other hand does it right by starting off with three great episodes from respected directors (Walter Hill, Robert Zemeckis, and Richard Donner)

You could have yourself a drinking game watching that first POS episode every time the 20 something guy pretending to be 14 says' "Daddy." He say's like 50 times.

I kind of liked "Monsters", though it was low-budget and varied wildly in quality from episode to episode. Though it was as low budget as any other entry, I was amused that one episode is perhaps the only audio-visual adaption of a Manly Wade Wellman story about his occult investigator John Thunstone.

Monsters did a lot of neat short stories. They may be low budget but they're very entertaining.

I really liked Monsters when I was a kid. RIP in peace, Glim-Glim. Gone but not forgotten.
