It makes you wonder how badly managed everything was behind the scenes. First Neve Campbell didn't want to return, then an actress quit and now this.

Imagine fucking up harder than the god damn Weinstein's. Just holy fuck at the level of incompetence.

I've been watching some more Korean horror/thriller type movies recently and they so seem to really like their bleak endings or bittersweet ones, I guess it's just either a popular trope with the public or the directors all have the same sort of mindset with their movies. It's interesting, feels sort of refreshing too when I get too desensitized with Hollywood horror.

I liked the Krampus movie that came out in 2015, it's from the same guy that made Trick R' Treat which I liked. Honorable mentions to stuff like Black Christmas and Santa's Slay too.

All I know is that with Neve Campbell and Jenna Ortega, they were pretty much offering them low pay, Jenna apparently was going to just be a cameo in Scream 7 so they don't pay her too much.

They fired the lead because the studio were kikes, and Jenna quit to not get dragged in with controversy.

The Director left because he was stressed out, and there was probably more shit behind the scenes that hasn't even been mentioned yet.

Given Scream is a recognizable horror IP, I won't be surprised if Spyglass tries to do a full reboot just so they can milk the IP.

Good. When even the director of Happy Death Day doesn't want anything to do with Scream 7, then of course Paramount done fucked up, though of course he threw a temper tantrum which explains his departure as a director for said movie. I too am hoping development for Scream 7 remains dead and hopefully people can focus more on original content than reviving IPs from the dead for nostalgia bait

Went and looked it up because I have most of the comics. The TV version was more faithful in getting the look right. So I've come to the conclusion that the little girl is just dumb as a bag of rocks.
 
Well I got around to Silent Night Deadly Night 4. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that. Interesting film of Yuzna doing Yuzna things, yet an unfortunate end for the Ricky character. I take it they had an existing script and randomly tied it into the SNDN franchise for mysterious reasons.

Also, imagine getting murdered by Clint Howard. I feel embarrassed for his victims when he plays a killer.

Part 5: the Toymaker is great too. The SNDN franchise is surprisingly consistent.
 
Gravitas has two horror movies coming up in the first week of the new year (Mummy Murders and DarkGame).
And I'm too lazy to find the trailer for DarkGame. But I think you get the gist
 
I caught up on my other Silent Night Deadly Night Sequels. SNDN3 is possibly the low point but still pretty remarkable. You've got: Leo Johnson and Ben Horne from Twin Peaks, Rita from Mulholland Drive, and Bill Moseley from everything. They're all standing around killing time because there's no money for anything to happen and the story makes no sense. The conversation about not using your cell phone while driving was way ahead of its time for a 1990 movie. Yet imo, best moment is when the shuffling nonverbal psychotic mental patient manages to hitch a ride directly in front of the insane asylum he just escaped from, while still dressed in his hospital gown and slippers and despite missing a chunk of his skull and half his brain being exposed. In fairness, it does seem to take a couple hours, during which the cops fail to notice him. Even the people that he kills don't care that they're getting killed, so why should the police?
 
You know, I'm not a fan of most horror. Some people think I am once they see my taste in movies, but they're conflating a particular subgenre of horror with the entire genre.

I don't like Horror Movies, I like Monster Movies. Alien, The Thing, Critters, Pumpkinhead, Gremlins, Tremors. These are the movies I like. If your monster is nothing but a dead guy welding a sharp implement then I'm not afraid of that shit nor am I interested. I want MONSTERS.

The more horrific and unnatural the better. Shit like this.

Yeah, people just lumping all horror movies together has been a problem for me too. Someone comes over and asked "Let's watch a horror movie," And then I'm like "What genre, monster movie, Kaiju, ghost story, exploitation (and all it's sub genres), zombie, American silent movie, German expressionism, slasher, and so on. Have you seen Frankenstein's Army, that's found footage, but it has some great monsters in it.

Plus part 3 was directed by god of the indie film scene Monte Hellman. Hellman was considered one of the great indie directors for doing Two Lane Blacktop and generally being a force for good behind the scenes for many filmmakers.

It's kind of like if Orson Wells directed a Friday the 13th movie.
