I'm not big on found footage and I'm particularly fucking sick of zombies but a friend talked me into watching [REC], expected to spend the whole movie groaning at the screen but turns out it's actually pretty damn good, one of my biggest gripes with found footage is not being able to suspend my disbelief when characters just won't stop recording even when it makes no sense but this handled it pretty decently by having the main characters be a reporter and her cameraman, also the ending sequence is legit creepy. Solid 9/10.

I was also informed there were sequels (which I'll definitely be checking out soon) and a Hollywood remake called Quarantine, I watched that yesterday and despite being almost a shot for shot remake they somehow still managed to fuck it up, in [REC] there's some ambiguity on whether the zombies are a result of the usual virus or if there's some sort of demonic shit going on. I thought that was pretty cool and distinguishes it from the typical zombie flick, for some reason they completely removed that in the remake, fucking why? Definitively would not recommend, even if you don't like reading subtitles please give the original a shot instead.

Recently watched The Sadness and holy shit that was a fun ride of just balls to the wall insanity from beginning to end. No real melodrama and only the barest essentials of characterization to make the narrative work with everything else being devoted to a sheer endless divulge of horrific shit happening to completely innocent people from beginning to end.

I kind of miss horror movies like this where there's no real point or message or attempt at any deeper themes but just awful shit happening for the sake of awful shit happening.

Maybe something is deeply wrong with me but there really is something I truly enjoy about absolutely meaningless suffering and pointless atrocity, it's visceral in a kind of way nothing else really is.

Having seen the first and second sequel, I'll give my brief thoughts. Rec 2 immediately takes place after the first film and it repeats a number of things from the previous installment while also removing the ambiguity from the previous installment. Rec 3: Genesis, as the title states, is a prequel that doesn't add much other than an earlier infection took place, so that explains how government reacted so quickly in Rec. Also, Rec 3: Genesis did away with the found footage format, which looks to be the same case for the last installment (based on the trailer).

Recently watched Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows and Kane See No Evil and got to say that Blair Witch 2 really is that bad while Kane wasn't bad. Kinda shocked that Blair Witch 2 was that bad but if you wanna see a bunch of alt and goth titties then there you go I guess. Just gotta ask, what the fuck was the book of shadows lol?

See No Evil could of been a lot worse but for just a fun killer kills people film it wasn't bad. The set was over the top in a good way and while the cgi was lame they did at least try to go the extra mile with it . The film isn't good in any traditional way I suppose but it is entertaining to watch with friends and try to guess who will die and when.

I think Blair Witch 2 had a pretty interesting idea. The execution was lacking. There were a number of sequels from that time that had interesting ideas but didn't turn out great. American Psycho 2 is another that comes to mind.

I saw part of the later Full Moon movie "Ooga Booga"
a) Band really can't do blaxploitation and he needs to keep away from it
b) after seeing Evil Bong it was nice to see that the puppet toy death thing actually moves
c) Maddox?

yeah See No Evil wasn't _good_ by any stretch but I watched it with some bros a month or few back for MAY NINETEENTH and it was a cromulent slasher at worst
also the three foot dong sorta being a thing on-screen wasn't something I expected

Sharks of the Corn on Amazon prime is amazing. It's so overtly terrible I honestly believe it's high art. I don't remember the last time I was so entertained by such a shitty movie. It legitimately gives Troll 2 a run for it's money.

I'm not even being facetious, I legitimately enjoyed this movie.
A movie that was made to be bad on purpose can't really be compared to something that was a genuine effort like Troll 2 or Samurai Cop.

I'm gonna say that Blair Witch 2 was at least a better movie than 2016 Blair Witch. I think it's one of those movies where the production history is more fascinating than the quality of the movie itself and was damaged by the studio with executive meddling due to how surprisingly successful its predecessor was during that time.

As for See No Evil, that movie sucked. It's one of those shitty 2000s slasher movies that I've forgotten about, and I still have zero memories of it even today.

The Wiccan girl reminded me of Wiccan girls I saw around in college, as in this fictional Wiccan was just as annoying as the real life ones, except the guys in college might actually have wanted to have sex with one of the real life Wiccan chicks if they looked along the lines of the one in BW2.

Really wonder if any black person has actually seen one of those
Wait, are you indicating that there's other Band vs Blaxploitation movies?
Are there any going back to the early nineties when Band wasn't just phoning it in?

I doubt Zoomer blacks have seen any of them.

On that note... The trailer for the new Exorcist reboot bullshit whatever is out and it's just a black version of Exorcist. That's it. The only change up seems to be that there's two niggers possessed at some point and 90 year old Ellen Burstyn is back! And now she's the Exorcist! And it looks fucking retarded. It makes many of the Exorcist ripoffs look like masterpieces by comparison.

Uncle Ruckus better show up with job applications.

I didn't even know they were remaking The Exorcist.
