What horror movies/series did you guys watch, which genuinely scared you, as an adult?
I am looking for something, which makes you feel unsettled after watching it. Something, that makes you feel uneasy in your own home. Fills you with dread, when you remember you forgot to lock the front gate and now you have to walk out there in the middle of the night.

Signs, A Fire in the Sky, and similar movies. Shit makes me go to bed with an AR waiting to give E.T. a collect call home.
Yeah Signs is one of those for me as well. Especially, because I knew almost nothing about the movie before watching it, so I had no idea what to expect. I thought it's gonna be about schizo theories, involving crop circles.

Other examples are:
Paranormal Activity.
I watched it years after its release. During viewing I was fine, but I got extremely paranoid after finishing it.
Unknown movie:
I do not remember the title, but it was about an Australian(?) couple who decided to go to the beach, to relax and forget about their squabble. There, they find a dead manatee and a camper van filled with dead people and weird stuff starts happening. I watched this at 2 AM, half asleep, so it's a bit fuzzy. It was not a particularly good movie, but had a foreboding atmosphere. At some point the wife character was alone in the dark and the camera just kept staring into the darkness, for prolonged takes. This was driving me nuts, as I expected something to lung at the camera at any point. Nothing happened, there was no jump scare.

Haven't seen A Fire in the Sky yet, thanks for the tip!

Dark Skies is another alien abduction movie that gave me the willies.

Anyone have a verdict on Smile? I'm considering seeing it.

No. It does not look very good and there was another movie with the same basic premise, I forget the title of it, but it was a Blumhouse production and if Millenials used their TikTok app it would create a smile and they'd kill or some shit.

Smile from the trailer reminded me of shit like Bye Bye Man or Truth or Dare, but looking at the reviews it's reviewing for better than both of those movies both from critics and normal people.

Wonder if they just made the worst trailer they could have or people just have shit tastes. Guess I'll find out when it hit torrent sites.

@BrunoMattei was it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smiley_(2012_film) you were thinking of?

That entire wikipedia article lmao, from plot summary to critical reception, so hard to pick highlights

Prior to the film's official theatrical release, Gallagher and his family began receiving threats from people alleging to be from 4chan and Anonymous.[6] Personal information for Gallagher, his family, and anyone that had worked on Smiley was posted online with the recommendation that people use it to harass them.[12] In an interview with Fearnet, Gallagher stated that the site had posted the information as part of "Operation Fuck Smiley" and that "Their goal was to spoil the end of the movie, post pornography and gore on any website that talks about it, rate the movie really low... it was this horrible vendetta, like they wanted to destroy it because we talked about 4chan in the movie."[12]

So, Operation Fuck Smile is a go? brb, downvoting on all 80 of my imdb socks. The trailer has black people and fully-clothed women in it. This act of aggression towards gamers cannot be allowed to stand.

Holy shit, Fearnet, I haven't thought of that in years! I miss that.

On a scale of boring shit to mildly enjoyable shit, how bad is the new Halloween rebootsequelremake finale gonna be?
I fucking love Zack Snyders dawn of the dead, I go back to it regularly enough.
For all his faults, I think his Dawn of the Dead is the best zombie apocalypse movie there is in terms of aesthetics and presentation. Day of the Dead is a much better character drama, but the Dawn of the Dead remake and 28 Days Later are to me the absolutely defining modern zombie outbreak movies overall.

I think it's going to be pretty fucking bad. Still going to see it, but I'll wait until I can get it on the high seas.

No, it was actually Truth or Dare (2018):

The only good thing about Smiley is that it was #1 at the box office, it's R rated instead of PG-13 crap, and it demolished that POS film Bros.

I may have zero interest in Smiley but I'm glad it exists and has prevented a POS like this or Woman King to get the top spot by default.

I still remember the sticky on /b/ when it was first released

Iirc they attempted to dox the director too lmao

Wife and I started it with Battle Royale. She had never seen it and I was hyping it as "Banned in the US when I was a kid.".

Fortunately she loved it so I won't have to leave her. I forgot how good it was too since I haven't seen it in awhile.
