So we have all this massive amount of lore dumps, and hundreds of paragraphs of lore theorizing in this thread alone, and yet no one has an explanation for why there are 371,489,000,318 Septillion bells all over the place????

You can't just skip over the bells bro, this was a bells game throughout all of act 1, which was pretty much half of the game, before it became a silk game.
There is a whole sprawling net of bells all over pharloom, hinted to be so ancient that at least 2 entire species evolved to traverse them. Maybe they predate even GMS...

Never played it before, got it on sale, now I got the 112% in it and am playing Silksong, pretty good games especially for their low price.
I knew there was a lot of platforming/pogo in Hollow Knight, but the White Palace was a little uncalled for, my old man reaction time was put to the limit.

I got to the final boss of Act 3 and I'm done. I can't beat her. I don't want to do this game anymore. 95 hours of swearing at my TV, and I fell at the last hurdle.
I went back and started Hollow Knight again, and the bosses seem much less bullshit than in Silksong.

I beat her with all crests and no tools, if you want a suggestion for her moveset:
- Double jump and binding in the air is 99% safe, unless she is creating bullets
- Do not pogo on her slashes, you'll get hit.
- Pogo during the parry, in air you can easily dodge both counters.
- Always assume she uses 3 dashes, stay either distant or on-air.
- Anything that comes after a leap attack is the second easiest thing to punish.
For the moves that she uses from phase 2 onward:
- Don't dash away to get distance, she will tp in front of you in the worst moment.
- Always look at your feet.
- The bullets are the safest moment to run around the map but still risky, you can also use wall jumps if you are cornered, its safer too
- If she is floating and using the tentacle blobs, it's the best moment to get below her and punish like there's no tomorrow, it's completely safe.
- The double tentacel train lowers near the end of each run
- The grab attack gives you a short moment to breathe, but don't pogo on her during the follow-up attack unless you have shaman crest.

Generally speaking:
Witch crest is the worst to use on this fight, slow attacks like reaper and architect's pogo can also be a pretty choice of move to use.

Pale nail, silk spear and cross stitch are the best spells to use, especially the latter, with all silk hearts + the lantern you can easily get a spell ready at any time.
Pale nail + lantern + volt filament allow for a fire and forget kind of build where you can play more defensively and use the spell to inflict great amounts of damage easily
Cross stitch allow to be more aggressive with needle attacks and use the spell for misplay.

Cogflies and forge daughter's Silkshot are the best tools for this, if you want to maximize damage, slap the pollip pouch and use only one of each at a time.
The damage you get from both these red tools, in addition to poison is gonna be 690 for forge daughter's silkshot (592 if you got the true silkshot) and 416 for the cogflies, enough to mow down half of her HP at minimum.
Pollip pouch will ad an additional 3 points of damage to each tool, it's amazing for multi-hit red tools like cogflies and the silkshots, rather than stuff like pimpillos.

Bad tools:
Rosary cannon + quick sling (for a faster load) + pollip pouch is an absolute travesty and will deal only up to 480 damage. Don't bother.
Architect's silkshot will deal up to 504 damage with pollip pouch. This shit is so ass it really needs a buff.
Pimpillos deals up to 432 damage total too, it's a decent burst damage but falls short overall.
Tacks are ok for the first 2 phases but will fall short later as Lace can remove them from the field, also it's virtually impossible to take advantage of the pollip pouch fully with them.
Never give up.

No, I'm done with this bullshit. I managed to get her to phase two with one health remaining, and then she tidal waved me. Act 2 was challenging but good. Act 3 was utter bullshit for the most part, and this battle is the biggest slice of shit yet.

DSP beat the game
(nevermind only the easy ending)
He stopped playing after posting this lmao

Honestly, I think you've earned saying fuck it at that point assuming that is your real time and not an exaggeration... I'd generally encourage you to keep it up because my typical response to people complaining about game difficulty is that they quit at the first sign of adversity, but you've obviously put in effort far beyond what people who die twice and start complaining on the internet do.

Well, anyways, good luck with Absolute Radiance in Hollow Knight! No way there could be anything in the earlier game that is harder than it's sequel Silksong! ;)

Silksong very strongly punishes you for losing your cool. If you can't stay mild tempered and focused through several failures you will not make it.
It's crazy how many bosses are designed to intimidate you but have big weakness if you keep your cool and stand your ground.

I think Hollow Knight punishes mistakes much harder than Silksong, because of how healing works. Waiting for a boss to stagger to slowly heal maybe 2 hearts, versus dashing away and healing mid-air in the corner of the room whenever you want. Silksong's final boss is like an 8 minute endurance test with needle1 no tools, but you can make a lot of mistakes and still recover.
Pure Vessel and Absolute Radiance still give me more trouble than Silksong's final boss.

Not an exaggeration. My first Hollow Knight playthrough years back was 28 hours and I finished the game (only 82% completion but whatever). Silksong just seems much harder.
Act 3 basically broke me. Half way through it, I decided to say 'fuck it' and ended up cheesing bosses with bullethell/minion architect builds.
The coral gauntlet was horseshit, the flower boss I tried, and when the floor vanished decided to get the heart from the Green Prince instead. End boss...fuck off. I'm at like 90% complete and didn't use guides, so I got my moneies worth.

Get fucked Choir Clappers you double niggers.

Took me two runs to get this achievement, the Choir Clappers gauntlet is the only hard road-block, everything else feels manageable.
Took me more than 1h to beat the gauntlet, and that's after spending hours practicing the fight in my failed run save file.
This fight is so ass it killed my desire to try a Steel Soul run.

I'm done with Silksong for the time being, it's a great fucking game and probably my goty, but after 87h of 100%ing and trying this speedrun cheevo, I'm kinda done.
I'll come back when they release DLC, hopefully we get a Godhome-like dlc, I really wanna fight a Radiant Karmelita.
Anyways, time to go back to that slog that is Death Stranding 2.

>hopelessly waiting for someone to be born among them to become their savior, have no intentions of actually fixing the problems they themselves created
It's funnier since Hera thought they were full of shit and told Hornet to ignore them. She may have been the literal queen of bitches but at least she managed to be a good mother in the short time she had with hornet.

Have you ever wondered why Herrah doesn't look at all like any other weaver? Like, every other weaver is a skeletal freak wearing a white yoga ball, while Herrah (which we know is a pureblood weaver due to hornet being half-blood) looks like a fat fuck termite whose mask is most likely shaped like Hornet's.

Probably either a massive retcon or Herrah was uplifted from a different spider-like bug (most likely a drapemite seeing her body shape). Even then the Weavers in Pharloom are different from the ones in Deepnest, First Sinner's mask resembles a Pharlid, while the ones who live in Hallownest have one that's perfectly circular, she also has a more top-heavy build unlike the Hallownest Weavers who are just head, neck, and body

except there's a weaver in Hallownest that looks exactly like the ones you meet in Pharloom, except its wearing the same red robe Hornet does.
During the needolin vision, they are able to bot scuttle around like spiders and stand up like regular bugs.
I suspect Herrah's difference appearance can be explained with the same hidden dialogue Hornet has with Eva I mentioned multiple times before, but even then it's kind of stretching.
