Finally defeated Karmelita. It took way more attempts that I'd like to admit because I was stubborn and wanted to kill her with the hunter's crest. Then I switched to wanderer and it was a piece of cake

Dumping some more images because I have a problem.

What even are the differences? I didn't end up using the Silkshot much, and I've been afraid to look it up in case I screwed myself out of a really good one.
Normal silkshot (the one you get from repairing in Mount Fay) fires a laser like the one the servitors there shoot, the architect's is a burst, and forge daughter's is just a normal bullet

I took railgun, which is apparently the best on a DPS basis, but it seemed kinda too slow to use a lot of the time. I ended up switching it out for the basic daggers or rings.
So the best is probably just whichever sounds like it'd suit your playstyle. Or on the basis of filling a role no other tool really does, maybe shotgun?

After the first patch I stopped having really difficult trips back to bosses from benches, I wonder if that was because I got gud or because they made some of them more forgiving.
Maybe it was just that hunter's march is a crazy punishing area in terms of that and now nothing can compare to how hard that was.

I didn't even remember I had the busted gun until the robot lady offered to fix it. Nice to know there are other variations.

Pretty sure I could Steel Soul Hollow Knight with zero sweat.
Yeah, I did it without savescumming (except for traversal of course) and it was still quite easy (only failed once to Mawlek I think?). If I do end up doing it for silksong I’m probably going to savescum thoughever.

Having 100%* the game (*the ingame 100%, still have achievements left to do), this is definitely my GOTY. With that said, I imagine that Cherry team's based choice to not be a good "ally" in regards to journoscum alongside other indies will bias the award's committee against them.
In regards to diffulty I think it was sharpest at the beginning before leveling out in the midgame with a decent increase for the third act. I liked the level of difficulty, and the only real "cheap" feeling thing I would maybe change is to reduce the damage taken when running into an enemy to one (for bosses that don't directly use their body as a weapon). In Final Lace's fight in particular it felt really ass to take that two damage hit just from brushing into her as she jumps and teleports around the stage. Nonetheless, it definitely was not enough to detract from my overall enjoyment of the game. Also, I really liked all the "rules of the game" disrupting moments like getting kidnapped to the jail or being ambushed in the starter town by the charging bug. Present in other games (e.g., FS's titles), that spice of surprise really makes it feel like a proper adventure.

it's easier in silksong. make sure to open the shortcut to the kitchen after getting one of the melodies.

I haven't gotten any of the melodies, yet, to busy fucking around... but you were right!

It was easy, got it down in three attempts!

Now on to get that crust nut... I've found the sands of Karak... I feel like the Crustnut is gonna be here, right?

It's in a room off of the main vertical room.

Eh, Clair Obscur probably deserves it anyway. But I'll never understand why anybody gives a shit about some award arbitrarily given by whatever corrupt circlejerk on the authority they gave themselves as part of a yearly marketing event.

In terms of actual importance, the award means next to nothing. But for arguing and rage-baiting on forums… well that’s a different story.

If I had one genuine complaint about the game, it's going to be if what I'm reading is true and I've fucking locked myself out of the Garmond and Zaza boss fight. I've barely encountered them the whole game and they're already sitting next to the First Shrine. That's nigger shit if that's the case. I'm not replaying 50 hours of game for that, but now it's got me doing what I didn't want to have to fucking do and scouring guides and spoiling myself on all the remaining content I've yet to encounter because I don't want to accidentally fuck myself out of anything else. Don't like missable shit. Don't fucking appreciate that one bit. Maybe I'll get to fight them later on if they make some kind of DLC again where you get to fight all the bosses. Then again, maybe they'd be locked in that mode until you beat them in the normal game. Fuck it, whatever. I hate missable shit like that.

I suppose, at the very least, it doesn’t contribute to the “game completion” statistic nor is it a particularly prevalent issue (as far as I know), but I do agree in general that when content, of a non-insignificant size, is missable it sucks.

First sinner 5/5 great boss finally I can be aggressive for once
Groal 0/5 another three day boss with awful everything
Most of the pain with Groal can be attributed to the hellish run-back (especially if you missed the secret bench). Though I wonder if Team Cherry plans to do a Boss-run DLC like the OG’s pantheons.

The run back is relatively ok. It’s like a minute and I usually make it with full masks.

Disabling heal and having bullshit unavoidable damage attacks with barely any telegraphing is awful. Massive floaty body that keeps floating in the way is awful, and despite this the hitbox to actually hit him with the nail feels tiny like it’s barely possible to attack and not get bodied so I rely on iframes from pogos and clawline. Doubled up attacks that block the exit route to dodge lmao2masks damage is awful.

I tried the stay in the water cheese but the chip damage kept coming. Had much better progress staying in the air and pogoing. I already spent all my pocket shells on tools to no avail. I’ll crack open some bundles and try to use poison cogflies and hope I can keep dodging the chip damage next.
