Disclaimer: Great game, just nit picking.

The amount of time I've died because a single hornet pixel collided with a single enemy pixel while attacking it has already dwarfed the number of times that has ever happened in HK, not to mention the abundance of teleporting. The fact that a lot of enemies and bosses do 2 hearts for something that a lot of the time you can't predict (I can't predict, maybe you can, God gaymer) is ridiculous.

I don't know what team cherry has against compasses but just let me see where I'm at without being gimped, it's not exactly a cheat.

The areas just seem a lot less slick design wise, I'm not incredibly far in so it will probably get better but it seems like Team Cherry sacrificed a lot of gameplay variety. Exploration and platforming are near non-existent so far.

It doesn't seem like there's any reason to lose your beads other than "Dark Souls did it", the only real penalty is minutes of mindless farming, and when your game is this strict, you could play perfectly and still be left in need of more beads, God have mercy on a newb who loses them every now and then.

Overall this game reeks of the classic Fromsoft move "Let's make the game unbelievably strict and ball crushing to get people sneeding and in a month we'll release a patch making everything way easier."

I think the idea was to create a penalty for mindlessly dying over and over, however if you're fine with losing 25% of your beads you can just string them up and never lose them again unlike in Hollow Knight.

2: Chinamen hate blacks
Should be the default mode for all non-blacks.

After spending all of today playing I'm genuinely impressed with how incredibly fucking stupid people are and how retarded all the criticisms I've read have consistently turned out to be. The game is pretty decent as well.

In hollow knight, you had the rancid eggs that would allow you to recover your lost shade.
You did need to use a simple key to unlock jiji but the ability was there, also in the sewer you could find a guy that would sell you eggs.

Game is genuinely hard and (thankfully) there's no option to toggle invincibility mode either which makes the experience far more enjoyable than other titles.

People are having a hard time getting beads? I've been getting a steady supply and pretty much been able to buy almost everything just fighting enemies while exploring. Are people just dying without recovering their beads? I don't get it.

I also just fought Lace and I don't see what the bitching was about so far as having to backtrack if she kills you. There's two benches so close to the fight that either one you use is just a straight line to the fight with barely any problems as far as dealing with enemies on the return trip. I seriously wish some of you niggers would record yourselves playing this game so I could watch it because I can't believe you're really bitching about nothing like seriously I think you're just fucking with us you can't be that shit at this video game.

Nigga, any anthropomorpic character that's both androgynous, sexless and short looks like a boy.
Just look at chibi-robo.
Exactly. So call it a boy.

Early areas and enemies barely drop any, and bosses/arenas not dropping any also contribute to the stinginess. I had to farm a couple of rooms for the map tokens and fire charm, it was annoying.

I've played 3 hours of Silksong because I saw it was on gamepass. When it comes to basic mechanics, what is new/different about it when compared to the original game?

In Silksong you get its equivalent of Rancid Eggs from an npc at the end of Sinners Road, an area conmected to Greymoor that requires Cling Grip to get to.

It probably doesn't help that you either get locked into a boss fight, are forced to exit the game to respawn at a bench or lose the beads. This happens in at least half the boss fights (if not most) which I think rarely did in HK. Sometimes you even get soft locked where the only way out is to pogo off a flying bug to reach a ledge which you never needed to do in HK.

You got locked in every boss fight for HK, The only boss that didn't lock you into it's arena fully was the False Knight who broke a hole in his arena for you to escape through

2. Many enemies do 2 damage right off the bat and mask shards/containers are very few and far between so far; I have reached Act 2 and still have found only one life container, meaning I still die in only three hits at full health.
Are you just not exploring? I have three mask shards already and I just recently got the dress. Slow down and backtrack once in a while or you'll end up underpowered. Same is true for all Metroidvanias.

I don't know if to keep playing or wait for balance patches and bug fixes. The plot is non existent and the difficulty just makes the whole thing not very fun, not to mention plot progression world change means I either grind sidequests or hope I'm not locked from items.

also where are the bosses? I don't remember the original having sidequests.

I'm not reading the current opinion on the game, but I'm sure a lot of people are complaining about the 2 masks dmg fights.
Personally I enjoy the challenge they bring, but it annoys me that the "low hp warning" only appears for when you are on 1 mask, and not 2, since for those enemies 2 masks is basically 1.
I have died multiple times already because I thought I was safe, and thought I didn't need to heal, but in fact I had only 2 masks and needed the heal.

When you are focused on fighting it's hard to keep track of your hp, and the "low hp warning" helps a thon.

I mean whenever you go back for your soul it's never too far in the arena to reach without getting locked back into the fight in HK. There's at least two boss fights in Silksong early on where it literally spawns in the middle of the arena out of reach.

I haven't been enjoying Silksong as much as I hoped, but going back to Hollow Knight after several years feels great! There's just something about the first game that immediately hooks me, so I ended up playing it for the whole of yesterday instead of Silksong, sadly.

I was hoping for a Blasphemous II situation when it came to the change in difficulty, if I'm being completely honest.

Though granted HK is a pretty different game than Blasphemous I mechanically, so maybe I was being retarded.
