The chapel of the reaper is surprisingly easy and the crest is extremely good. You attack slower, but cover a larger area, and your down attack basically becomes Sly's spin attack. You also generate extra silk when attacking enemies after healing, which allows you to chain heals (which is a must have since almost every single enemy does double damage. I was wondering why the amount of i-frames you got after getting hit seemed to be significantly lower, now I know why)
Is the extra silk generation like a temporary buff after healing, or do you have to hit the enemies before you heal? I keep hearing about it, but I switched back to Hunter as soon as I got it.

Thanks.

You create tiny orbs of silk if you attack an enemy shortly after healing, you grab them and you get more silk. It's kinda like the beast crest but with silk

So anyone got any tips for the scissor guys? They are really annoying.

I've been meaning to try Architect's Crest but I'm blueballed on memory lockets.
Oh, they were in all the rooms I thought I'd come back to later.
There's been like exactly one of these in each area I've explored recently. All lockets.

Architect's seems pretty good, even more range (and damage) than Reaper.
I've heard people shit on the down-attack but it just seems... odd? You can do different strength versions by holding the button down longer and it comes out diagonally, but you don't move in the air at all. But it still comes out underneath you and the range is great (and I added the Longclaw so it's like, super great) so it feels pretty usable to me.

Also the unlockable charged attack is a GIGA DRILL BREAAAKERRR with an anime flash and everything

Got to act 3, it starts really well and then it goes into yet another fetch quest. Started the first one and it's 3 enemy gauntlets, including new enemies that will almost assuredly end with a boss without any checkpoint (died on the third gauntlet when the devs decided that having a floor is too kind)....

Who the fuck playtested this game? It's not like those were hard fights, but if I wanted enemy gauntlets I'd play the original's arena.

As for crests I'm still using the one that lets me attack quickly.

Citadelbros do I need to unlock a grappling hook to get past blasted steps or something

I'm having a blast with Silksong. I don't find it extremely punishing, but maybe that's because I'm really accustomed to metroidvanias and soulslikes. However, the many boring fetch quests and the fact that everything hurts you two masks, coupled with the scarce tools they give you to deal with enemies, can sometimes feel frustrating and diminish the fun. Game's economy is infuriating, everything costs rosaries and you barely need to use shards, it feels really excessive and hurts the pacing.

I don't want to sound too negative because I'm loving the game.

Just pretend you only start with three hearts in a game where there are sometimes weak attacks that only deal half a heart.

The game's good. I'm not blown away by it, nor did I expect it to. I'm comparing my experience to a fully-patched, DLC-complete Hollow Knight, so I'm curious to revisit Silksong after a year or so to see how much changes.

Hot damn the charged Architect Crest one-shots a lot of basic enemies.

Took a clip of it followed up by the (heavy) pogo so my Reaper bros can understand:

(Bonus footage: big drill hits flying enemies really easily too for anyone that hates chasing them.)

I think it will be, It'll probably be up there with Donkey Kong and Expedition 33
Fuck. I forgot about Claire Obscure. Even more shit for the backlog. It warms my heart a but that the major devs are getting blindsided more and more. Hopefully they’re not stupid enough to put the MGS3 remake in the running.

HOW COME THAT THE LONGER I PLAY THIS FUCKING GAME THE MORE PEAK IT GETS?!?
HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE I'M GETTING ANGRY BECAUSE I'M HAVING TOO MUCH FUCKING FUN?!

I'd kinda prefer if they just refrained from doing that and instead made a separate "baby difficulty" mode for the people who want zero challenge.
There’s plenty of challenge in the game even if some act 1 roadblocks get tuned around. I suspect the Moorwing and Sister Splinter fights will simply shorten the second phase, so you will still need to work your way around the more intense attacks but not have to keep it up for as long.

For mid-late game, the main difficulty adjustment is the amount of stuff you’ve bothered to collect around the map.
