Construction of the Stalinallee project in East Berlin, August 1952. Less than a year later this would be the focal point for the abortive East German uprising of June 1953. I can’t remember the proper symbolism for the swastika, is it well being or something to that effect? I do know many pilots put it on their airplanes pre WWII for good luck, which led to Allied aircraft changing that to how many German planes they shot down

I believe the olden day swastika was Hindu for peace, I'm most likely wrong.

But I remember a indian/Hindu high-school friend giving me a history lesson on their symbols n whatnot. But I forgot everything because I'm dumb.

103 Years Ago today on August 24th 1919 Ray Caldwell, starting his first game for Cleveland as a 31 year old pitcher, was struck by lightning during the 8th inning. He survived to both finish the game, get the Win, and 3 weeks later pitched a no hitter against the Yankees.

This was how Germany thought you dealt with mental illness by using forced standing in the late 1800s.
"This 1890 photo depicts a woman forced into a crucifixion pose and facing a wall. The woman is a patient at a mental institution, undergoing treatment. Believe it or not, forced standing was considered a legitimate part of treatment for mental illness in 19th century Germany."
