In the spring of 1990 a flight of two USAF B-52 Stratofortress strategic bombers requested a flyby of the USN carrier USS Ranger (CV-61). When the bombers reported they were 9 kilometers out the carrier air controller said he didn’t see them; the pilots told him to look down. When the pilots requested a repeat flyby the answer was an emphatic "yes" and several crewman aboard the Ranger snapped photos of the planes.

This looks nice but is terrible posture. The arms are bent in a terrible way that would fuck up your tendons. This is the proper posture. It took me a bit to find one semi-proper in an historical era picture, but this is pretty good:

That picture is a perfect example of aesthetics overruling practicality, because if you kept your elbows directly next to you like that, you'd end up with carpal tunnel in no time, I mean unless you're just a fashion model pretending to type.

Also my picture isn't perfect either, you should be backed up a bit with your elbows more or less open, to reduce friction and tendonitis, not to mention the true awfulness of carpal tunnel.

The Deltics are without a doubt my favourite post war loco's, I was waiting for a train a few years ago and they had one pulling a special train using carriages through history and a 0-6-0 Saddle tank from the GWR and when that thing started up it was like a angry mechanical goliath announcing to the world it's here and ready to do the work any work and for lesser beings to get out of the way.
