Hey, speaking of Yuu Watase, she's "genderqueer" now.

(I can't get a translation of it to show off, but I followed it through TV Tropes.)

Not surprised, she created this character:

At least we can now say those people behind High Guardian Spice aren't the first ones and will never be

In a twist that surprised literally fucking everyone, this thing isn't actually dead in the water. A pilot apparently exists and it's being test screened.

I want to also mention that Thundercats Roar is in a similar situation and may have just been claimed to be a real project so WB could hold onto the rights with no intention for producing a real show.

Mattel and Super 7 have the rights to the toys and none of the shit they're making involves the new show. However rumors are circulating that a Cal Arts holocaust is upon us.

You see after the success of shows like Castlevania and other anime on streaming services many companies are now opting to go that route instead of having american 2D animation. It's come out that Mattel has entered into an agreement with a Japanese animation studio to make a new He-Man series and and two more series for two other mattel/super 7 toy properties. WB was attached to one and it's not DC or any type of Justice league because the toy rights and media rights to those are different.

Japan will end Tumblr's reign and grip on american animation by blowing it up like Pearl Harbor.

You mean Americans want pretty animation rather than fugly cheap shit that in no way looks like it takes a year to animate and produce? NO WAY.

Finding it kinda sus that only one person is claiming to have seen it. Aren’t these kind of things group tested and viewers under a NDA?
Going to say that there's a real good chance that if anything was shown it was either to their butt buddies or just strictly corporate. Which means it's not a real test audience and it's just there for the book keepers to document. Fantastic 4 The Original Movie was shown the same way, just to a small audience consisting of nothing but corporate/executives people so they could claim they had something in order to keep the rights.

Pretty standard business practice there.

Who'd want to claim rights to this?

Marketing people so they can churn out shit.

Companies make a ton of money off stuff like Halloween costumes. It's entirely why DC kept wonder woman around because her merchandise outsold her actual comics even before the movie was made.

Why would anyone wear Halloween costumes of something that has never aired anywhere?

The same reason people thought others wanted costumes of characters from Rogue One and other movies where you can't name a singular character from.

There's a reason why marketers are the first against the wall when things go really south.

So I went to the Crunchroll Expo as they had Junji Ito as a guests of honor...and missed his signing because of my alarmclock(wouldn't have gone otherwise, yeah Imma weeb). I kept an eye out to see if these clowns were gonna push any kind of high guardian spice shit there, even like some kind of pilot episode and...nothing. Absolutely nothing related to it or any mention of it was there. Hopefully that shits gone for good.

I copied the spoiler tweets, just in case someone wants to read them in a non-rétarded manner:
Not dead to me, I just saw the 1st scene and so far, it looks pretty good.
Imagine Little Witch Academia if it had like a Steven Universe art style.

I'll start by saying that before I started the survey, the starting page had an image like this except i saw a castle wall background with "High Guardian Spice" in red bold text over the shield.
Also, when I accepted the terms, I saw both Crunchyroll X VRV.

Anywho, the show begins with Rosemary (pink haired girl) and Sage (blue haired girl) stepping on a hill, about to take a wagon ride to High Guardian Academy.
After a joke where Rosemary tumbles down a hill, the 2 see their parents, and RM's dad mentions how...

her mother would be proud of her as he he shows Rosemary a charm pendant she's wearing.
We then learn that Sage wants to be a healer and her mother tells the 2 to "Don't forget Chompy" as they head off.
Chompy, a gray toad with tiny horns hops in and bites Sage's bag
Intro starts

The Opening to "High Guardian Spice" is actually pretty nice as it definitely feels like an anime OP.
The song's an English song and the scenes they show gives me some vibes.
New She-Ra: Girls BF group
Little Witch Academia: School and the students

Oh yeah!
And apparently, Rosemary's dad is gay as you see him and Rosemary living together with him pink haired man.

After the intro.
The 2 girls are still off and they noticed their hometown called, "Pebble" is smaller than they thought.
Then, after they scaled a mountain or canyon, I think it was Rosemary who decides who decides to cut the line to board a train...

With the help of a living chest that carries their items, they take out a broomstick and fly on board the train.
They then take a rest until they arrive to a city called "Linguard" where they are greeted by "Sages?" cousin and niece; who I think they're LGBTQs.

The girls go to the LGBTQ's house and with some magic, the 2 women hold hands and create a bedroom for their guests to sleep in.
It then cuts to a dream scene or a flashback of young RM seeing her mother who was a strong guardian fight darkness, but disappears.

Rose wakes up with tears in her eyes and when Sage wakes up and sees Rose, she offers to sleep with her and tells her that her mother's still out there alive.
Morning comes and upon Sage's niece trying to give the girls tea, I saw a wedding photo of the 2 women in the background.

The girl's then go to the Kitchen where they see that the white haired LGBTQ woman in charge of the Kitchen.
The girls eat breakfast and decide tto check out Linguard. So, they go to the marketplace and Rose almost hits a black brunette with her sword upon being excited.

BTW, Rosemary's sword is really her mom's and the black brunette eventually joins Rose and Sage's BF group. The opening spoils that.

Anyways, Rosemary then notices her locket's missing; which contains a picture of a cheese cake and they go after a tiny rodent creature called a Trixie who has it. They chase it to a tree where Rose want to kill it, but Sage tells her to wait and see what it does first.

They watch the Trixie do a little dance on a tree stump and Sage tells Rose that it's doing a ritual with the locket. It calls out its mates and evolves into a griffin looking creature. It then flies around the tree until 1 of its mates hears it.

They dive down from the tree and it causes the causes the younger mate to turn into a pink version of its lover. They then grab Rose's locket and break it in half in front of her. She gets the 2 halves back and it's revealed that the cheese cake picture is just a family photo.

Sage then takes Rosemary to a blacksmith to try and repair the locket. The blacksmith they see is a short blonde girl named Parsely who's also going to the academy to be a better blacksmith.
She also has 12 brothers and is in charge of all of them.

So, after the girls talk a bit and we get a joke of Parsley slamming her hammer to silence her brothers and sending 4 of them to do a chore, she offers to fix Rose's locket and give it back to her when school starts.
Then, it cuts to Rose and Sage back in Sages' cousins' house.

They tell Sages' cousins how their day went and the 2 girls go to bed together.
And the final scene of the ep. is Rose and Sage heading to the school and Sage replies to something Rose says with, "When I can use spells with 1 hand, I'll make you whole again."
Ep. Ends

There's also an anime like opening that shows the "Best friends squad" and gave me some new She-Ra vibes with the ending song and scenes, but it also felt more like Little Witch Academia.
However, I don't think it'll be as bad or cheesy as new She-Ra.

Correction to my 1st tweet on this, @RealClownfishTV:
Apparently, there's another ep. of High Guardian Spice the survey showed me. So, 2 episodes.
It's a Halloween ep; which has an antagonist who I like to call "Not Catra" and a big, muscular, talking cat.

If that's real, then I don't think anything more will be done, as this doesn't look like it will pass the test screenings.

So basically they're making token characters.....
They're making characters so every fucking retarded nitche has some avatar or idol to worship so they can buy all merchandise relating to them and to cosplay them at conventions. Cosplay seems to be the #1 priority and concern for many things and not the actual source material itself. Mostly because cosplay ties into social media bullshit.

It would be like Tolkien creating hobbits just so manlets have someone to look eye to eye to and to purchase all hobbit relating products.

Granted the Tolkien estate is absolutely fucking pozzed and more than likely will demand that Hobbits eat Curry and that the Dwarves and other races(except orcs) represent proud POCs because the fucking Estate hates the Peter Jackson Movies yet I know for a fact the Estate greenlit a whole bunch of fucking retarded LOTR bullshit and products in other media that were nowhere near the vision of the original books(i.e. the Dwarves having a medieval nuclear warhead launcher).

Good riddance. If I ever want to get back into anime, I need to watch Castlevania and that new joint Cannon Busters, someday - not this. Whatever this is, it only continued the sad fall of a medium I otherwise love unlike most of the internet... Western Animation doesn't need nor deserve this inflicted on it when it's already damaged enough by SJWBS in general.
